New Kalmar AutoStrads were discharged from the bulk carrier MV Mick at Patrick Terminals - Brisbane AutoStrad. The new automatic straddles will join the Patrick Terminals - Brisbane AutoStrad fleet after completion of commissioning and testing.
The AutoStrad vehicles are self-contained and autonomous. The vehicles navigate to move containers around the terminal based on virtual routes within 2cms accuracy. The Patrick Terminals - Brisbane AutoStrad was the first terminal in the world to operate with the Australian designed AutoStrad container handling technology.
