@@GeorgeRenda but they can somehow use siege shockwave as template to have the option of making him look like a gun and it won't be a studio series if he isn't gun mode since in the movie he is in gun mode though.
@@GeorgeRenda oh well, if only takara tomy will be doing the studio series then it is possible that they will make megatron into gun but since it is hasbro so the tank is the only way they will do this but my opinion stands that it won't be a studio series if it isn't a gun mode much as what prime vs prime has the same sentiments.
@@GeorgeRenda imagine the loss of the companies that makes toy guns, that is alot of toy guns destroyed. Yeah, I heard that the toy gun violation is strict in the US so nothing can be done by that and hoping that the tank mode for studio series megatron will be far more superior than what we get from the previous lines and to fix what they haven't fix from past toylines since we have yet a good tank mode for megs.
Gosh, I love this figure so much. It's really hard to be objective about it so I don't even bother. I fully admit that this is a massive pull on the heartstrings. I think most will agree when I say that this figure holds a special place in our hearts. Out of all the pieces I own, this is one of the few that evokes a truly special feeling. A moment in time. Thanks, Patriot Prime!
"Trailer Park"! Yup I got one of those too,on the very bottom shelf as well. I dunno I was on the fence with this one but I do believe I will be getting this one later this year since I don't have a g-1 Optimus and I refuse to buy a used one for an arm and a leg when they are always missing the fists
I got mine a few days back and I've hardly been able to put him down! I went with this version over the cartoon because I had not had a G1 Prime with his trailer since I gave me original to my little cousin back in the 90s. I couldn't be more pleased with the Missing Link. Pricey, but it is what it is. It's hard to put a price on that nostalgia, but in this case it's $120.

Hello Patriot Prime my name is Alberto and I love your channel and I want to tell you that I bought my Missing Link Optimus Prime this pasta Saturday and I love it.thank you the great video.
First thought was "Didn't I see this one?" The figure so nice you reviewed it twice! This is the one I ordered and it should be here sometime this week and I can't wait
Pre-prdered C-01. As someone who owned the full G1 Prime with trailer as a kid in the 80s, this screams childhood memories to me. I've looked at previous releases and almost picked them up, but glad I didn't. Once I saw this version, I snapped it up. Can't wait for it to arrive to display. New to your channel, but thanks for your videos!
My Missing Link Prime should be arriving tomorrow and I am looking forward to it. Also, just like the repair drone got some remolding to give it wheels so it can roll out of the trailer like it did in Fire in the Sky, Roller got some remolding too. The back panel can flip around to reveal a little siren light. I was originally just going to get C-02 but when I found out that they made some changes to the drones I got FOMO and grabbed them both. 😅
I ended up getting just both. I miss the spring loaded roller/vehicle launcher, but Prime having an extra mobile drone is amusing. Putting on the trailer stickers were a chore though I had the worst time putting on the little random circle decals.
I was 1 in 1984, so I didn't dream of it yet 😂. But I'm waiting for the G2 version. Speaking of G2, the launcher for roller on that worked pretty well iirc.
Of the two, I really like C-02 more. Sure, it lacks some painted details vs C-01, but I like the cartoon look! It's basically the version we should have had in 1984, whereas the toy variant is more akin to Diaclone, before the G1 cartoon came to fruition.
My theory on Roller being silver is that the trailer was possibly meant for the cartoon colors version. Think about it, most people only know or prefer the cartoon colors, especially in Japan, where these guys were designed. If they included the extra stuff with the version everyone wants, they'd make more from it, AND people who can't quite afford it or are collecting may get the toy colors version instead, and then the one they actually wanted, resulting more profit. Which if that's true leaves one question, why was switched around?
Top class review. Honestly I preferred the one you reviewed first although this one has better paint details but I do sense some what I'm going to henceforth call 'collector syndrome' trickery going on here leaving out those small details on C01 for C02 as well as the trailer which in these certain cases as you also alluded to disguised as 'options' which really just means trick people into paying twice as much as they might if they had been given real options to choose exactly what they wanted spending only as much as necessary. Sort of like that Toxitron collection I came across recently where they put up pictures of the entire set for the price of just one with merely a small print disclaimer somewhere around the bottom clarifying that you just get the one picked at random as if they're doing you a favour and not ensuring you're going to end paying potentially many times more if you're silly enough to buy into getting a complete set this way. I'm not sure if the fact they no doubt intended to aim this at children who might collect them like football stickers to trade with their friends or something makes this more or less outrageous but it is what it is I suppose. Nice to hear you were happy enough to stick with the one you had though with thanks to Toyhax of course for allowing you to make this review with their figure. Good times.
The oeiginal roller was silver I have the first Optimus prime (metal sides pre rub sign)..and roller was silver. He later came with a blue roller then purple...
@@PatriotPrimeReviews The part on the back to plug stuff in has been re-designed to flip upside-down and reveal the red Kojak beacon from the cartoon. It's not a big deal but it's there.
I’m curious what Toyhax will do with their upgrade set for this. Looks as good as the solo toon one. Unless your one of the few that wanted the toy deco solo and vice versa. I’m guessing if this line gets to characters like Megatron & Shockwave they’ll make 2 versions of them. Like for Megatron one has the silencer & stock while the other doesn’t, one has blue highlights while the other has red (a reference to a Japan exclusive variant, one is chrome while one is gray, etc.
So, you changed your mind and decided to review C-01 Missing Link G1 Optimus Prime, anyway, huh? I like Missing Link C-01 G1 Optimus Prime a lot better than the C-02 version. C-01 is truly a homage to the original Diaclone Battle Convoy/G1 Optimus Prime figure. I also like C-01 a lot better without the matrix of leadership and without the matrix chamber and without the energon axe because the original Diaclone Battle Convy/G1 Optimus Prime figure never had a matrix of leadership, no matrix chamber and no energon axe.
You said you love updates for classic figures? Have you checked out Masters of the Universe Origins if your into He-Man and the Masters of the Universe? Also, the feet do move up a bit
I am gonna wait on the rumored studio series optimus prime and see who fares better, not saying this is a bad one but there is a reason why this is called missing link, I bet after they killed off prime in the movie that they might be intending to make a new g1 prime with ample articulation when he finally comes back on the cartoon series.
