It's crazy players like Brissett and Minshew got starting jobs but only 1 team even offered Flacco a backup job. I'd take Flacco over either of those two and a couple other starters like Watson and Levis.

Flacco's final years in Baltimore and the Jets were abysmal. He got the big payday and dialed it back. That's not what the owners of any NFL team wants his first round draft pick to learn.

Good luck keeping your players happy as a coach telling everyone the best quarterback's health is more important than wins. In a vacuum you can say it's a bad call, but as a coach/gm you lose all respect when you expect other players to risk their safety, while you're not playing the quarterback that goves you the best chance to win.

I don’t understand... I hear a lot of people who are saying, starting D. Maye is a bad idea for numerous reasons, but it's they decide to wait until the team gets better, then you'll have a bunch of others that will say, they are wasting his talent because they haven't started him yet... When will humans realize that humans will never be happy with others' decisions, but the ones who made the decision don't care about how they feel... Just sit back and wish that man the best and let it go.......

Not a good move at all they should just trade for a vet. Anything to NOT put Maye on the field with this team. A coach, GM, and Owner can look the rest of the team in the face and say “Drake isn’t playing this year because in this program l, we value winning for an extended period of time and him sitting and learning is what we want.”

The last thing, 31 other fan bases wanted was the patriots to have a quarterback with Athleticism in the mold of some of the young guys that are shining today. O-Line comments are def coming from people who have not watched the games or really even looked at the stats. Just wanting to be pessimistic. The oline gives enough time for the ball to be bailed on, Brissett took sacks cuz he was slow on decisions.

The Jets and Pats will never win another Super Bowl in Rich or Brockman's life time, sorry guys but Mahomes, Allen, Burrow &even guys like Dak, Kyler &Lamar are gonna play for another decade. I like Drake Maye a lot but Marino never won a Super Bowl, hell never got back to one &it's been about 30 years since the Cowboys won anything. Finally! Baptism by fire, that's the way to go. Sitting down behind a 6th string QB he wasn't going to learn. Make Milton QB2 and let the young guns take us into the future. He's going to make mistakes, and that's ok.
