@@mattlefebvre123 Catch rate: Through six games, Polk has a 43.5 percent catch rate, catching 10 passes on 23 targets. Polk has also had some instances where he thought he caught the ball, but officials ruled otherwise: Deep pass: Polk thought he caught a 41-yard pass, but officials ruled that he didn't get both feet in bounds. Overturned touchdown: Polk had a touchdown grab overturned. He also caught a TD that did count.
I dont think Alex Van Pelt was a good choice for offensive coordinator. Why would you want anybody from the browns. They have always been awful. Now the Patriots are the new browns. Not good. The Patriots need McDaniels back. He worked wonders with their past offences. His first year with Mac Jones was good. As soon as he left, the offence fell apart.
Van Pelt needs a chance. He was working with an aging place holder that was managing the offense. Now it's a dynamic rookie that needs to be controlled. He can work with Maye. Don't get me wrong, if Josh is available, no coordinator would be better, but Alex needs some time.
@@scottcordaro-fn1uw Well running it twice in a row in the same direction without good structure then always passing on third and long isn't going to help the pats.
Jerod Mayo On Patriots Linebacker depth chart: “I would just say we have to be better. We’re not playing at the level that we need to. Look, Bentley’s not coming back anytime soon, so we need someone to step up in that role. Whether you get that from the linebacker room or the safety room, you just need to have better production out of that group.”
Ja'Lynn Polk needs to play more so he can develop a connection with Drake Maye. Benching him does not do that. If they were to bench Ja'lynn Polk that would be the worst decision the Patriots have made all season.
Why would Boutte be benched?? He’s shown he’s finally understanding the pro game, played the most snaps of any WR against Houston, had his first TD (immaculate catch and throw between him and Maye), and sounds humble and ready to grow when talking to the press???
Why are you people pretending that Mayo has any input on offense? Dude does not have a clue, actually it is now pretty evident that he doesn't have a clue about defense either. Steve Belichick was the difference on D. Mayo was hired to talk in circles and kiss the medias ass.
For the WR core, I feel like Douglas and Boutte have been very productive. It seems that they have a much better connection with Maye. I’d say have rotate Polk and Baker. They do need to learn how to catch in critical moments. But it’s their first season in the NFL so I wouldn’t be super upset with them. We now know that Drake Maye is able to extend plays downfield when needed. For Cole Strange, I say that he’s a bust. He did play Center in college, not LG. So I would move him to Center. But I wouldn’t give him a long term deal. He’s constantly injured every season and he’s very inconsistent. Center is actually a very hard position to learn. From picking up blocks to learning who’s blitzing in the middle interior, Ben Brown did an amazing job for only practicing a couple of days and only allowing a couple of pressures. I would Keep Ben Brown if he keeps producing and is consistent. I would only keep Cole Strange for a 2 year deal and see how he does with the transition. But I can see Ben Brown out performing Cole strange. He wants to earn a spot and protect our young QB. I never saw that consistency from Cole Strange when we had Mac Jones. Cole Strange was a first round draft pick by BB, he was projected to be drafted in the 3rd/4th round in that draft. Some players become inconsistent and fall off when they get that kind of money being a first round draft pick. I would also start Christian Ellis over Raekwon McMillan, especially if he’s productive on defense. I did see a holding penalty against him during the dolphins game, but I also saw him flying all around the place as well. What I’ve seen from Raekwon is that he isn’t very productive and that he’s very confused during passing plays. Also Josh Uche hasn’t been productive at all. He’s supposed to be an edge rusher getting sacks. I don’t see him getting any sacks these past couple of games. He is inconsistent. This happened last year when Judon got injured. I know we aren’t going to be making any big moves this trade deadline line. Maybe a couple of waivers, but nothing big. If we don’t hit it off during FA, it’s going to be made in the draft. we need to rebuild the offensive line. Draft Will Campbell in the first round. If we are able to trade down and get additional picks, I’d also try to snag Colston Loveland TE. Then draft a RT in the second round. Third CB because Johnathon Jones is constantly being beat and hasn’t been the same since he got injured. 4th an Edge rusher because Josh Uche is inconsistent. I’d also try to add some depth in the D-Line as well, Nose and DE. I’d really like to see Christian Bahrmore line up in the middle as a nose tackle with Roy, then Deatrich Wise and Keion White on the Edges.
In fairness, last week’s officiating was awful! Even the broadcast was confused by some of the calls! The first PI call on the opening drive, was not PI according to the ref in broadcast because the ball was passed to another player and if it was, then it should have been deemed as uncatchable since it was going to another player. The ineligible man downfield call was just the guy blocking on the line. He never moved. But then the refs completely whiffed on a flagrant facemask that nearly broke Gibson’s neck in the 3rd quarter!
absolutely horrible to hear Ben Brown was the best lineman from Mayo’s perspective, a guy who had ONE previous game of NFL experience before the Houston game. Not to take anything away from Brown, he’s finally getting his chance in the league after 4-5 years of bouncing around practice squads and seizing the opportunity. Just crazy the 4 other OL who have been on the team since training camp are a level (or more) below an inexperienced guy off the street. Who knows? Maybe he’s finally in the right place at the right time and will be part of the rotation for years to come?
Disappointed that the Patriots pick up an elite receiver. The Pats have more CAP SPACE THAN 29 TEAMS. The AFC EAST teams Jets and Bills both upgraded, Patriots stood ................Pat.
@@MeMemes-y7nand you know what’s funny all three of them are sucking anyways. They could’ve been with Maye now they can suck with will Levis; as for BA if CM doesn’t come back he won’t be playing in anymore SB and he’s not doing good anyways.
I don't think changing the o line and benching guys week to week is creating any sort of chemistry which is part of the problem. Polk is good but, for 2 dropped passes? To me that is questionable. I truly think because he had jacoby brissett who is not as good as he once was with the colts (mind you he had better options) but, to say ok you need to be benched and due to poor performance. If you give him more targets with drake he maye (may see what I did there dad joke) actually mesh well.
Patriots Head Coach Jerod Mayo On Cole Strange Injury News: “He’s starting to look like an NFL player. He’s getting better. We’ll see what happens as we go forward…He can play guard, he can play center, and we have to get the best person out there. I think he has the ability, the physical tools to be able to do it.”
We need some real talent on the Oline before we will really get to see Drake Maye shine. I'm really hoping that the same thing doesn't happen to him that happened to Mac Jones.
@@DemonZX6ZDakota Well it would help Polk out greatly if they would let him develop a connection with Drake Maye and not base his play off of 1 Game against a Top 5 Defense with a QB making his very 1st Start.
McDaniels has been fired as a HC from 3 NFL teams proving to be totally inept at running an NFL team and yet some idiot fans still want him back as an OC. What for, to leave again????? Move forward and let the past go!!!!
I need the people who are calling for mcdaniels to be OC or HC to put down the crack pipe. The guy is a scrub unless Brady is QB. He was a disaster in Denver and for the raiders. Keep him far away from this team.
That's ownership cheaping out again, buy the least qualified to save money 💰 that's why the team is in the hole (1-5)there in...been that way for years, everybody knows...🤔
