Tears me up every time I hear He's Alive. He IS alive and I AM forgiven. Thank you for this today. Sometimes we get so beaten down we lose sight of His love and POWER when walking through the valleys, but this song always reminds me He's still God,even in the valleys. He's got our backs....and we have eternal life no matter what! Thanks again!

This video is a revelation. Up until now, all I've ever seen are songs where he's belting it out ["Oh holy night", or that overplayed "resonant high notes video" are the most popular examples ]and showing off his range. Now I can see what a fabulous story teller he truly is, whether he's singing or speaking, he's conveying that message very well. Thank you for sharing.

Howdy, my friend! I know what you mean about David being able to show his ability to tell a story. You gotta remember, number one, he believes what he sings. Number two, he trained as a lyrical tenor, opera. He turned down opera offers to sing for his Savior. Also listen to a song he wrote. I think its Read it Again, or some such. It's about him witnessing to a man on a plane.

End of the Beginning was the 1st David Phelps song that I heard and I was hooked. The second was O Holy Night and That is when I sent you the video. I knew you would be hooked!😉

The first time I heard David live 10 years ago I, too, found myself holding my breath. From that moment on I have been never been the same. Every time I see David in concert it is more amazing than ever before. The Lord entrusted David with his gift and he has, in turn, used it to the glory of the Lord, and humbly so. Thank you for featuring David on your reaction videos. Your reaction is a blessing as well.

Yep, you have the same reactions I have always had and do to David's singing - he brings me to tears everytime - He's Alive is amazing! His voice is straight from God - he gives you goosebumps. He is amazing - the best singer ever. You have already done my favourite - Water, but some other great songs, We Shall Behold Him, These Are They & It Is Finished (Australian Homecoming), Just As I Am and every other sone he has sung.

Don Francisco wrote "He's Alive." The most famous version was probably by Dolly Parton, and she's good. But I far prefer David's version.

This is a little late but I just found your channel. Brother, your emotion and tears is the Holy Spirit working in you. Don’t turn from it. You are blessed and this means God Himself wants you to except the gift of redemption Jesus gave freely to you and me. All we have to do is except it. But we can only get it when we are called and if we turn Him away enough He can and will stop calling us. Please except the gift of salvation while you have the chance. I believe with everything in me that this Jesus is talking about is about to come for Those of us that is saved. The stage is being set for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled. He’s coming get ready!

David wrote "End of the Beginning" himself. That was filmed at Carnegie Hall a few months after 9/11. I envy you, getting to discover David Phelps for the first time. I remember the thrill and amazement the first time I heard him sing "O Holy Night." When the internet and RU-vid came along, I started devouring everything of his I could find. Now I've got every solo CD and DVD he's ever done--all autographed. And a lot of the GVB product as well. But that's a long row to hoe to collect them all. Billy G. is a prolific video recorder. lol.

LOL! Yep, Bill G. gets the music out and in your hands! He and Gloria have written soooo many beautiful gospel songs!! They aren't ashamed to share them with other artists either. Bill gathered a lot of the Gospel artists and gave them a new platform. David and a lot of other great guys have rotated thru the Gaither Vocal Band. Bill got everyone's music on the air- everywhere! Domestic and world tours! Getting the Word out to the world! 🙏❤

I know what you mean! We discovered him about 4 years ago when friends kept going on and on about The Gaither Vocal Band and David Phelps, so I said let's go check them out on RU-vid: I was BLOWN AWAY. So I was immediately a Phelps Phan and watched EVERY performance I could find and bought his music and also the GVB. We've been to several concerts and have met him - he is kind and personable. I don't understand why he doesn't have more international acclaim! In a different time, perhaps he would have.

Take us to church!!! Thank you for bringing back such fond memories. I have had the enormous blessing to perform as a backup singer to He’s Alive in a men’s quartet (Cornerstone) and I performed End of the Beginning (lower key of course 😉) and it is equally moving to tell the story of Christ as it is to witness David’s performances. To touch the hearts of the audience even a fraction as much as David can is such a blessing. Thank you for doing this. May I make a suggestion for an oldie but another moving Easter video; Ray Boltz “Watch the Lamb”. I know it’ll touch your heart too. And probably bring a tear to your eyes in a powerful way. Keep the videos coming; love them. 😎

Ben Bowman years ago I got to meet Ray Boltz in Ft Lauderdale, didn’t recognize him right away as it was right after he shaved his head 😎, and he was kind enough to give me his dvd album with performance videos, not just tracks. He gave me permission to perform to the video live for Watch the Lamb and it was amazing. I stood to the side and allowed the video to tell the story. And since I wasn’t “performing” just singing I got to watch the audiences’ reaction. Simply amazing. It was so cool.

I had the same feelings and reaction when I first heard David Phelps sing on a RU-vid video. I ended up listening to the videos all night long until the early morning came. What a wonderful time of praising our Lord I had as I listened to David. It just ushered me into such deep worship. I was so touched by your reaction, too. God Bless you!

thank you for this...I have been a Phelps fan (Phan) for around 20 years and have sang many of these same songs in my ministry...but watching you watching him for the very first time takes me back to the majesty in his ministry that the Lord ordained! thanks for taking me back to how I first felt when he came on the scene with the Gaither Vocal Band so many years ago!!! You are so precious..I love watching your heartfelt reactions to my favorite artist..I listen to him everyday to get through the days as a front line nurse.I played no more night at my late husbands memorial 8 yrs ago..as a night shift nurse my John was afraid to die alone at night,but by the grace of god after3 months of me and my mom caring for him 24/7.God granted me johns only request to be holding him and smiling..I was... praise god!!! You're absolutely correct, dear Brother! David's gift from God... his voice: DOES go "straight to our soul!" and we ALL need that tremendous "Anointing" from our God now, in these "Last Days," than we ever needed Him before! Every song David sings is ENCOURAGEMENT to us who love God and are "Waiting for JESUS' Return for His Bride" that we may live with Him in Love and Peace forever in His Heaven! Hallelujah! Two David Phelps songs that are excellent for Easter, "The Night Before Easter" and "It Is Finished" both with different Gaither Vocal Band members, but both with David. "It Is Finished" is from the Australian Homecoming and the other from a 2017 concert.

I like your reaction videos because #1, you don't stop it every 5 seconds. #2, even though you have heard many of his songs, you are in awe and amazement every time you hear him sing, and I can relate to that. #3, the Holy Spirit is so strong with David's voice that it will give chills to everyone, even non believers.

Thank you so much--yet again--for such a deeply heartfelt GENUINE reaction. David's voice has always had that same effect upon me. We all have our own opinions of course, but for me, no one even comes close to David. His voice brings me pure, absolute JOY. May I offer again my suggestion for a reaction--"Just As I Am." Having played trumpet all the way through college I've always been in awe of the shininess, the brilliance of brass and David's voice in the upper registers, has that exact same quality. This is from his first solo DVD about 15 years ago and I was blessed to be there. This also includes my favorite slide in the entire music industry. Mark Lowery...another precious man. He and David were part of the Vocal Band for several years. David has a precious sense of humor you can see if you watch many of the vocal band videos. I love my David! I would adopt him if I could!!!

Some real classic David Phelps and great reactions. just as a side note you comment in the video on Mark Lowry and that he wrote the words to Mary Did You Know? not only has David sang backup to Mark on this song many times, but David has sung it solo as well and it is of course as is typical of David amazing lol.

It's now the end of June, and I still play your Easter Special with David. I love David's voice, I love the songs, and I love your heartfelt reactions. I haven't seen many reactions lately for David, and I'm hoping that you would do a few more of his songs. A few suggestions: "Gentle Savior", "Just As I Am", "It Is Finished" (Australian Homecoming), "Until Then", "Alpha & Omega", and "There Is A River". I look forward to more of your reactions!

Dolly Parton has a great version of this too and end of the beginning is my favorite that David does, makes me shout cry and sing. When we all get to heaven what a day of rejoicing that will be. When we all see Jesus we’ll sing and shout the victory

David actually wrote that last song, "End of the Beginning". I'll be praying for you as this virus is changing everybody's world right now. (By the way.....that "holding your breath" reaction is the Holy Spirit showing you that Jesus died for YOU and He wants to make sure you know it.)

I love your reactions! I thoroughly do believe that God gave us David Phelps so God bless us all with his beautiful voice! You can thoroughly feel and see that David believes in what he is singing about, which is Jesus Christ our Lord and savior!
