I'm 22 years old, and this song automatically brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. It reminds me of going on walks with my beloved grandmother when I was no older than 4... Her name is Patsy as well, and she'd always sing this song to me. Miss Cline's voice was beautiful, but I'll always be biased to my grandmother singing this the best. :P

Pete Phillips Kelly Clarkson's version is the one for me. She has a wilder, spontaneous, jazzy blues vibe that I'm a sucker for. In fact it sounds more Jazz and Blues than Country. Patsy could never perform in that way, fine singer though she was. I'm not a fan of those pedal steel guitars either.

When my grandma was alive we listened to this every night. I miss her and my grandpa so much so I come here and listen to this song when I feel alone. Any of her songs but this one has a special place in my heart. My grandparents raised me and died in their 70s but they raised me listening to so much music like this. So people always ask me why I like such old music. Because it's how I remember my grandparents. I miss them so much. Always remember to appreciate your grandparents. ❤

I wonder if it's ever ran across folk's mind just how many..(I don't have the exact number) how many great singers and song writers that have died in plane crashes over the years; and when I lift my eyes and look beyond the planes that have gone down; how many others, in different and assorted ways, that are lost to us forever ? I Wonder about these lives that have been cut short way, way before their time and just how much raw talent that's been lost to history. R.I.P. all y'all

My senses just seem to become keener, like she's so into the lyrics, and makes you aware of her personal connection to them. You begin to feel like you know her. Not many people can pull that off. It takes a great song and a very rare talent. I'm 62yrs and once a rocker who just loves music done proper. It just doesn't get better than Patsy Cline; thank God we have a record of that voice, and a shame there isn't more. I wish I haven't had to say that more than once, but the greats do so to leave us early.
