I can't believe Brian Jacks stays where I'm going to be living...He was one of my heroes when I was growing up that's incredible... Kev you need to introduce me to him when I get over PLEASE???
I used to do judo in the early 80's and Brian Jacks was a hero....cheers Kev, I did not recognise him from the vlog but the old pictures you used it all came flooding back. Good find mate....I'm glad he is enjoying his retirement in the sun.
Got a little suggestion if you don't mind Kev.. If you put a map of greater Pattaya up on a wall then it would make it easy for first timers to get a "lay-of-the-land" view of where you are talking about. It'd make your videos so much more useful! I'm close to going on a veteran's pension and Pattaya would be a good place to live for several months at least. Especially Jack's place, it'd be perfect. Thanks mate!

well well well ....... you might not believe me but when I was a kid 8 or 9 I done judo (look at me now!!!!!!) and met Brian a few times at different judo events....later when he done superstars he was my hero, along with Brian hooper !!!!brilliant mate
Really enjoyed this video. Seen Brian around Pattaya over the years; he's a cool and genuine guy. If I end up retiring in Pattaya then that us where I will live.
Blown away. My old mate Brian, friends during the mid early 1970's to late 70's. I was on the British Judo squad (under 21[Me]) 75 or 76. I have great memory's with him and our crazy times. We kept in touch even after i moved to the USA and after his Superstar wins, but lost touch. If you see him again give him my regards, he will remember me from Harlow Judo club. made my day mate. Fanatically, great funny guy and one of the top three best judo men ever to come out of GB. Wow thanks mate...

Nice one Kev, I really enjoyed this one. I had just about written off East Pattaya, as I don't drive, and I am reluctant to use a motorcycle in Thailand, but the fact there is a fishing lake nearby, and plenty bars and restaurants within walking distance, has forced me to have a rethink, all I need is to find a gym nearby and I could be sold on this one. I have less than 18 months to decide now, Jomtien was top of the list, but you've just put a spanner in the works, you're not making it easy, but keep it up anyway mate !

Thanks for the vid Kev. I am going to check the place out in January. It would help a lot though Kev if you would just mention what the add-ons are ie Water, Electric, Wi-Fi, Air-con etc. These items can boost up the bill quite considerably especially the air-con.
That's exactly what I was looking for. Far enough from the city centre but not too far. And the most important - peace and quiet - Songthaew route nearby. Everything else like pool, covered parking, parking for the motorcycle is terrific for the price. And as a bonus, a very friendly landlord. Thanks for this jewel, Kev. :)

Great video . That looks a pretty decent set up . Brian Jacks , can remember watching him win his medals more or less put British judo on the map . Always came across as an unaffected guy even at the height of his fame .

I knocked the door and in I went,.,he lived in kent cant remember if it was,Bromley or Orpington but he welcomed me in ..do you want a.cuppa son yes pls ended up a fry up and a cuppa top man .. got chatting to him my dads a black belt and I done a bit myslf,he showed me around said his boy did a bit and that,very nice fella ,I went home told my dad ,I can remember saying dad, his fingers are like big sausages have a look I'm right .. good bloke very down to earth,unlike twitchy yeah kev ,best vlog yet mate
I guessed it was going to be Brian Jacks as I knew he was living in East Pattaya and owned a block of apartments. Had a vague idea but didn't know exactly where. The one you showed looked nice and a very reasonable price. Will have to take a look down there on my next visit to Pattaya. I'm still trying to work out how it did that trick Kev...Regards Pete.

It was nice to see Brian as i new he lived in Thailand but i wasent sure where Kev, Brian used to live a stones throw from me in Orpington Kent. I think Jimmy white is a friend with Brian so maybe you could do a vid with him, also Gary stretch the boxer/actor is in Thai also i think Kev. If you see Brian again say hello from me.

Great vlog, Kev! Can't believe Brian Jacks is living in Thailand. The apartments look great value and the food sounds really reasonable, too. Have to say, if I was just starting out in Pattaya I would definitely give Brian's place a go. Always nice to have a friendly farang to help with settling in, visas, answering questions, transport, etc. Trust me, you could do A LOT WORSE. Anyone thinking about it, my advice would be try this first. You'll save yourself a lot of grief. Thanks again Kev.
Hi Kev, Naklua should not be overlooked as it is not only fascinating but also offers really good rooms/ apartments for those on low budgets. Furthermore it is on a 24 hr Baht bus route making transport easy and affordable thus avoiding killer motorbikes and rip off taxis. Fabulous clean and quiet beaches and lots of local Naklua people. Baht buses to Sattahip, Sirichai and Mapochan lake from Naklua market zone..Less overseas people so very low prices for everything..😀😀
