Hi Daz, i watched your video of Claudio's condo before and decided to book this Condo because of your Video. I contacted Claudio and booked his condo from end of November until end of February, all was very straight forward and easy & fair with dealing with Claudio. I arrived to Claudio's Condo and it was excatly as in the Video, very spacious and Clean in a very Central area in Pattaya. Claudio was very helpful and professional and always recommended me place with excellent food. After my 3 month stay i decided to extend my stay and once again Claudio was very helpful in helping me with the newest immigration regulations and i ended up staying over 4 month until end of march in his Condo. On my final day, Claudio meet up with me and we settled the Electric & Water bill and he refunded me my deposit money on the spot. Excellent Condo and excellent dealing with the owner. I definitely will be back in Claudio's Condo. P.S. i am German and Claudio speaks perfect English, German, Spanish and Hebrew 😉 Thank you Daz

Just starting the video, but that's a great-looking condo for that kind of daily rate. Spacious, clean, luxurious, nice walk-in closet - I'd love to rent a place like that permanently once I retire, I think. Thank you for the hard work Daz!

Quite an interesting series Daz. It looks like Thailand is no longer affordable for many. I hope you can do a video or two on living on the British or Australian pension (eg AU$23,400). Especially considering health insurance.

I generally budget 200k p.mth ex airline and condo. I rather live like a king when I'm on holiday and a far cheaper holiday compared to trying to emulate a similar lifestyle in most western countries. That's a great condo but for short time stayers the walk in wardrobe is a waste of space. Better to have a larger bathroom with bath imo. On the other hand it's a great price, flexible to booking by days, huge TV and nice balcony and the room doesn't have unnecessary furniture. Well worth a concideration on my next visit

This would be my regular length of vacation in Pattaya. But got dragged to a hault in the past couple of years due to you know what. Im now back home and had my thai wife imported at the end of last year. I thought our marriage was over which i told you about before but there was no end in sight with this global madness and decided to make a new start full time together. So far so good but watching this makes me miss the life i once had. Im still young so maybe its for the best i keep working and enjoy the little piece of Thailand i have at home 😂😂 love your videos mate. You have the coolest voice. 👍

Thanks for this! Im always encouraged by your price estimates. I dont drink , besides singha soda! So i deduct your estimates on alcohol and everything else is spot on. Youve also convinced me that Pratumnak is the place i want to retire to later this year. I think i can live with ST 3x per week too!

Cheers Daz. 4 times as long as 2 weeks but less than half price per week. To be honest this video confirms what I always thought, which is if you have the time, a longer trip is significantly better value and much more relaxing. The condo is a good option and a very good location near the Avenue. The only reason I can't come is because I have a loved one very ill, but otherwise, I think now for a 2/3 month stay is exactly what I would otherwise be doing. And when I can, I will move over to retire for a good chunk of the year. I don't think coming for 2 weeks is worth it, unless you have limited time.

The Urban has a great location for a short term visitor

the shopping centre where longhorn is worth going with massage shop and bars beside. the fast food shop at front is cheap and good

Nice condo but seemed very expensive. I know the location is good but it's above my price range. Your series on cheap condos was more my style ;-)

I remember the good old days, with 1000 baht for LT. I would bar fine every day, myself. We will never see those days again, not since RU-vid showed the whole world all the goodies to be found in Pattaya.

Some one likes beer too much 😂 just kidding. I personally don't drink beer because it gives me bad headache, so I save a lot by not drinking alcohol and I spend it in fruits, shakes, coconut, water park and other activities. Beer garden is my favourite with best view, reasonable price, nor cheap nor expensive , good for treat once or twice a week. Also I don't pay for bar fines and lady drink because I'm using App and twice a week LT is more than enough for me. Your price list is reasonable for some one who likes beers 🍻 cheers 🍻

Really like that condo. Tv couch combo is my style in that I enjoy watching my sports. I too believe in treating one's self. I ate at long horn Steak and am looking forward to trying Beefeaters next time around. I do very much like this style of video. Always informative 👍 👍

One of the best things about Pattaya I always liked was the bah bus (toyota pickup trucks with bench seats in the back) that drive round and round the city. You hop on, you hop off anywhere. Easy peasy. Cheap and convenient. I prefer to not drive in Thailand. they drive on the left, motorcyle rentals are cheap and convenient but you can have insurance and license issues if you are not licensed in your home USA state. So, if you rent some of these condos, they are sometimes off the main roads and getting around takes a little more effort than some may like. Motocycle taxis tend to be available so before you rent a place just consider how easy and close you are to the other parts of the city. errata, I have been there 15 times since 2004. Note, I am in no hurry whatsoever when I go there for my 30 day vacations, so a few minutes here or there while getting driven around and maybe having to walk a little bit is just fine with me. Now, that I am about to retire, I probably will bite the bullet and do the motorcycle thing, but again, for Americans and auto or bike insurance policies you may have in your home state, if you are not licensed for a motorbike, you may be surprised if you have an accident in thailand, same for any insurance you may purchase that you think covers you, check the fine print. Often if no licensed to actually ride a motorcycle, you may be surprised at claim time

And flights and visa and covid insurance now doubles cost of travelling and returning. Was 500 from uk. Now 1000 pounds.

I’ve done this lots. 1/2/3 months. I’ve always had 100£ a day. Never had a problem. You can do it a lot cheaper. And a lot more expensive.

Nice video, but I thought the price 160k per 2 months is kinda expensive, even for those who are above the average tourists. In my opinion (7+ years in Thailand), you can fit in 80-100k easily, living in a nice condo and eating at the middle price range restaurants. :)

So, he didn't say anything about a deposit on the condo.. does that mean there isn't one?

Good video Daz and well thought through. I like the way you break down the costs so that we can make adjustments according to our own preferences. Retirement is a few years away for me but this sort of information feeds into my planning. Unfortunately it also tends to push my proposed end-of-work date back, but it would be very sad to retire and find you didn't have enough to live comfortably on!

Good break down of prices. You do miss western food after a while. But breakfast lunch no problem. Drinks and lady drinks are expensive. I find gyms are expensive in pattaya ?

I go 4 weeks at a time. My expenditure on girls alone is over 20000 a week (not including lady drinks or the bar fine), LT a very attractive 20yo every night is very expensive but thats why I go there. Love it.

The exchange with the waitress was very good. I've eaten in that first place on Steak Avenue on the left I'm not sure if it's called Kiss Foods? I can't remember. I'm probably wrong re the name but it was very cheap and very nice. 💯 I'm eating at one of those steak joints on my next visit. I'm going to be staying at that new Space hotel 😜. I shall be coming for two months soon and have not been to Pattaya for 20 years alhough have spent alot of time in Phuket and Bangkok. I wanted to ask you if you might be able to recall a place to stay in Pratumnak or Jomtien which might have a pool of 25 meters or more for laps with a small gym.... I know you are busy and truly do not wish to take up too much of your time.... Thank you very much for all that you do!

Seriously? People complaining that 1 st pr. day is too MUCH???? Damn - I must be doing my trips way too wrong. On a average I am doing 1 ST and 1 LT every bloody day. And just for the fun of it I sometimes mix a soapy or a 3some into the mix as well. But my daily expenses tend to be a bit over the top. But I do have fun.....

Wouldn't use urban for that price over 2 months . I usually pay 12k month a lot cheaper offers about , probably even cheaper now .

How long can you stay in Thailand on a tourist visa. Is it only 30 days. If so how could I extend it to 60 to 90 days.

Good video again. Personally when I am in Thailand I find that the longer I spend there the less and less Western food I want to eat, to the point that when I do go to a restaurant for European food it is at the request of the other half. For coffee and cake I can recommend La Baguette at the front of the Woodlands hotel on Naklua Rd, and their second Branch on Thappraya Rd. Not cheap but an excellent selection of cakes, to me the best I have seen in Pattaya.

Hotels negotiate an excellent rate if you staying longer than 4 weeks, with breakfast, swimming pool and gyms if they have one I'm actually better off with them.

A treat for me is having a proper Thai meal I can have steak any day of the week lol

I've been to the Philippines and there's some advantages of going to the Philippines but from what I can see I like Thailand better and pretty much every aspect except for English being as easily spoken. That being said is it a lot cheaper to live like in a province outside of Chiang Mai in the north than it is near the beaches?

I think your 2 week budget is right on. Problem with estimating a 1-3 month budget is you’re looking at it an in between for a 2 week millionaire and a ft expat. So it will vary from guy to guy…
