I normally stay at the one next to it on the same side, Nature View. It's well cheap with big swimming pool, but the rooms are a bit tiered now and definitely need refurbishment now. Will look at this on Agoda or soma
Thanks, Mohammed. I think I've been to the Nature View before, but a long time ago. The Debua's rooms are clean and modern, so it might be worth giving it a try!
Nothing wrong with the Hotel itself, but the price and the proximity to Lk & TT, will mean it is full of plebs bringing back their barfines. If you are OK seeing that probably hearing that too, then it's all good. Buakhao is a fascinating place. Full of all kinds of interesting specimens. I am yet to feel nostalgic for the sight of older men in camouflage shorts and a Chang vest, but perhaps I will get that way.
Thanks, David. I'm not sure you'd really enjoy it so much. But given what most people want to see and do in Pattaya, it's a great location, and they've pitched it at a competitive price. Each to their own on this one. Saw lots of people enjoying themselves, so I'm not gonna judge if it's right or wrong!
Great stuff, not a bad price 1300 for that room in what is considered best spot in Pattaya. You made a mistake in breakfast selection tho, the regular breakfast at 149 baht is far better value for money 😊
Yes the Debua, watched that hotel being built during the pandemic, it turned out very nice I think...and the price seems very reasonable. I enjoyed the restaurant mini reviews and walkabout on Buakhao and through Tree Town as well BC. Thank you for another comprehensive review. The area looks so much better with a 4K camera than it looks through my aging eyes! 555
Thanks, Ric. I actually didn't realise it was that newly built. I guess it looks 'older' because they've built it in a rather grand, classic style and it looks good for it! Price is on point, too. I am a bit worried about your eyes, tho' No 4k camera, just a smartphone recording in 1080p! Thanks again, Ric!
great stuff. I prefer not to eat at my hotel, like to get out and about. No bar but plenty nearby. It's good your finding places that are not standard run of the mill.
Thanks, BB. You make a good point. If the hotel includes or offers breakfast, you can feel duty bound to eat it there. When more often than not, there's going to be better and more interesting options within 200m of the front door!
Another great video Pete. I stayed there 3 months after it opened and was disappointed with it. You cant deny that the decor is fab and high end. The downstairs just seems like a dark void. I’m still surprised they haven’t got a breakfast offering yet or bar, as it has a perfect balcony out front for people watching. When I stayed you got no bathroom amenities or even a hand towel. It made me think that they ran out of money 😂
Many thanks for the comment! I see where you are coming from when you talk about the downstairs. They have the space for a breakfast room, and there's a bar cum coffee shop area, but it's not actually open. So it does have a feel of not being completely finished. As I said in the video, if you just want a nice room and a rooftop pool, it's a good deal. Hopefully, they add a few more facilities in the future!
Thanks, Toby. And those are 2 good questions. It wasn't noisy, except for some loud guests coming back late in the corridor (not the hotel's fault). Couldn't hear any buzz from the soi. And they do have free underground parking! I guess it would be worth contacting them to book a spot if coming by car!
Eaten at Kungs before - IMHO very good food & big selection of Sausages if you go for breakfast / all day meals. Really liked your videos but then found out you're a Villa Fan!!! Takes all sorts I suppose - West Brom fans are usally a pretty decent sort...(Mr Egg) KRO Guys! I think all things considered I would probably "upgrade" to the Amethyst just for the extra facilities - but as they say in LOS - Up To You...
Thanks! Home-made sausages and choice of 4 different flavours; what could possibly go wrong. Well, if you ignore my diet, then nothing! I'll have to go back and try them all one by one 😀
🎉 Sir, you have a great RU-vid channel! If you had to stay a week at the amethyst or the Debua, which one would you choose? I’m just wondering as they’re so close together, and both so newly built. I wonder what other Pattaya travelers would use as well. Hope to see your comment great work.😊
If they were the same price I'd book the Amethyst for the extra facilities. But actually, the debua is normally much cheaper than the Amethyst, so I'd book that for better value for money. Thanks for your comment!
Thanks BC for another great review, at that price it is certainly an option, who needs a fitness room in that area.My only concern might be noise. Thanks again.
My pleasure, Peter. Think their double glazing or whatever does the job as I didn't hear any noise whatsoever from soi buakhao. The only disturbance was from late night revellers in the corridor, but I guess that goes with the territory!
hi BC, great review as always, didn't realise it was such good value for a lovely looking place! love how they have TB spelled BATH......then three words later spelled BAHT on the pink notice @1:06 hehe, so endearing 555. i have had to change from my usual hotel due to health reasons, i need a place with a lift so i have booked the Vogue hotel just around the corner on Lenkee for less than 900TB on Expedia, hope to bump into you at Phil's while i'm there for breakfast i have never found better than Nicky's, not only a top class full English, but it has a HUGE cup of proper English tea (refills available too!) and it is only 99TB, on top of that Debbie and Dave are lovely people, i will try Kungs because it's very close to Vogue take care mate 38 days until lift off!!
Thanks, Tony. Not long now! Yeah, sure will bump into each other at Phil’s. Look forward to it! Actually, Phil introduced me to Nickys a while back. Good, solid, dependable choice, as you say! I'm not familiar with Vogue. Let me know what you think, I might need to put it on the list! I enjoyed Kungs breakfast. The sausages really do taste homemade. Worth a visit just for that alone, and as you say, you'll be right by it!
I think I never had a stay in Pattaya for above $30AUD ($20 USD) per night prior to covid...... Closer to $10 AUD without aircon... My 1st visit maybe 10y ago! Have prices increased so much?
Thanks for the question. My short answer, if you are talking about high season, is yes! To get a hotel in this location and of this standard for 40 US or less is a good deal these days (in my opinion). The price of everything seems to have gone up significantly. And I've lived in Thailand for over 10 years.
Nice review as usual. That’s a bargain for what you’re getting I think. Good location and nice and airy. Love that statue of the dragon dog on the way in.
Thanks for the positive comments! I really liked that dragon too! Some very nice Thai design touches. They've certainly made it look grand around the foyer. I think in terms of value for money, it's definitely one worth considering. Ideal location for nightlife.
Thanks for the question. I can only say, I didn't hear any noise from the road or bars nearby. It might be worth requesting a room at the back or a "quiet room" when booking just to make sure! Hope that helps.
The knife on the bottle opener is for getting a straight cut around the capsule on a wine bottle - above the lump for a Burgundy cut and below the lump for a Bordeaux cut (my favourite), but you knew that 😊👍+1. Top vid.
Cheers, Andrew. I'm a new world wine drinker - Chilean would be my country of choice. But, the real question is, does the knife work with Chang and Spy Classic? 😃
@@balloonchaser My liver has told me in no uncertain terms that I "have drunk enough alcohol for a lifetime". Hopefully I'll be able to dabble after a three year dry-out, but pain helps me to not fancy it 🤔. My suggestion for possible surgery by a Sappeye drinker has disappeared... 🤣 (too graphic perhaps).
@@andrewrobinson2565 Bloody hell that sounds serious. I could survive if I was told I couldn't have another alcoholic drink, but if they told me no coffee, we'll, that would be another story.
@@balloonchaser It's EXTREMELY good food at an unbeatable price/value ratio, and he bought me in some non-alcoholic beer for my liver cirrhosis, so there's that too. Unfortunately, it stopped us trying other places on our last trip: "We'll go to Cheap Charlie's and see what we fancy when we get there." 🤔🤣
@@andrewrobinson2565 That does sound like a winning combination, Andrew. I'll have to give it a try if it's that good. "Balloon Chaser at Cheap Charlie's" does have a certain symmetry about it anyway!
