One essential piece of advice which was overlooked, is always get a business card from your accommodation, then you'll always know where your room is. I've met many 1st timer's drunk out of their mind's and clueless, as to where their accommodation is.
love the walk and talk videos its like taking a stroll with a mate , as a 20 years + veteran of thai bars , marriage , working etc its all very true everything you said very true , fun to listen to , although now divorced and single i think ill always stick to the three day rule and be a butterfly , pay for play everytime , take it easy se you on the next one
The most shocking cultural norm is that the Ferang man is 10th on the Thai girls list of priorities, so before you empty your wallet, make sure it is for you and not just to fund her family!
Great video, have been living in Pattaya for 6 months now. Your spot on with advice and I certainly made some of these mistakes early on. Keep your money fellas! Side note, would love to connect with you one day to buy you a drink. Your videos were very helpful to me when I was making my move to Thailand. Keep up the great Job Daz.
Great insights, as always. Thanks for the continuing education... by the time I get there, I might "have a clue" in situations that might otherwise cost me dearly. The cross-cultural implications can never be re-visited enough, and the comments that these types of reviews generate can be an yet another educational opportunity to inform our world view. Keep it comin' Daz. We are in your debt.
Great advice. I've been traveling to Thailand as a tourist since the early 80s. It is always good to brush up on things to do and not to do. Will be making my first Songkran trip next month. Cheers!
Great tips and all worth knowing. Apart from knowing these tips, the lady scene now has changed since the pre-pandemic times. Less of the nicer girls even work in the bars, and the ones that do charge far more than just 3 years ago. Whatever level you are at, it costs a lot more, and for the immediately available girls in bars etc, prices etc are not much different to Europe. If you have time to look around or find someone through a mate or a dating app, that may be different, but in a nutshell, while most Pattaya prices e.g beer or hotel rooms have not experienced much inflation, most aspects of the lady scene have, due various factors, but the main one is supply and demand. Do not expect it to be cheap, because it isn't, not unless you really really know your way around and have time on your side. Then when you do find someone, you have to bear in mind the 3 day rule! And really make your mind up quick to find out what the girl offers and how much she wants, because before you know it you will have spent more on lady drinks than on your evening meal! Basically these girls will fleece you if you give them the chance. It's just business!
I started to watch video with smile on my face because last month when i was there i bought lady drinks for 3 - 4 girls and went to another bar which my girl chose to drink with her friends :) , i didn't regret it, it was fun anyway. I went to Pattaya many times but i still learn many from your videos. Thank you. Another thing i want to agree with you is they could be extremely jealous.
Some of my friends & I had a heads up compared to most of my American buddies since there is a big Thai population in my area Because I am 1/2 white & 1/2 Thai.... hahahhaa ! Lot of us went to the Thai functions, Thai Markets, & Waht Thai in my American city. There is an Air Force base in my town & Because of the Vietnam war is how our dads met our mom's .... My mom was the go to lady to baby sit Thai/White kids when the Thai moms had to work the night shifts and the Hubbies were deployed. Most the families I knew while growing up the Husbands were active duty Air Force or same as my dad Retired from the Air Force & working another job.... I think my family Only knew 2 couples that were All white ....hahahhaa... the 50 other Families we knew were a Thai wife with active duty AF husband or retired AF husband just like my dad.....Hahahaha plus living in Florida made the weather comfortable for our Thai Moms.....lol
Great presentation It just reinforces the fact that one should never pursue a longer term relationship with a working girl. If one is looking for a commitment there are plenty of Thai women who do not work in the entertainment industry but of course there is always drama in any long term relationship anywhere around the world. If one is looking for just fun please follow or 1-3 day rule. And if she wants you to give her more than just the agreed upon amount say you cannot afford it and she will walk off and there will be another tomorrow or even within the next 10 minutes.
I like the starting when you are making introduction and in the screen is a mix couple with a little children walking together to Central Festival, haha.. very sarcastic! Thanks for the video.
Many girls who return home does give much of money but they are smart enough to keep some hidden away. But the main reason why many return back to the bar scene is because back home, they are expected to contribute to the household by waking up early and helping out with the farm, cleaning the house and taking care of grandparents or other family members. They are not allowed to smoke or drink alcohol. So after a couple of weeks, they need to leave and tells her family, she needs to make more money.
Wow real deep thoughts and first hand advises. Dude.... are you sure you haven't taken extra courses in psychology??? You rock buddy Tkx for sharing the real truth that some RU-vidrs ignore. Thumbs up👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 and thank you for sharing 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Daz, you are the best....My best friend from Brisbane Australia. Married a Thai woman her third foreign to him. He loves Thailand and is building two western homes in her poor village in Udon Thani and is buying a holiday home in Pattaya. They all want to go back to their home in Thailand. His father is a very wealthy man in Sydney. She saw the money and never let go. He is a good guy but always used his family money to get his women. LOL😂
Loved Pattaya in December. Would totally go again... Except I really don't want to do another 15 hour flight... I can't justify paying 3x more for a ticket so I could sit in a fold down seat.. but I want to go back !
Brilliant chat video Daz everything you said was so true.I have been with my Thai partner for 18 years now and they do everything you said especially about the jealousy 😅.sometimes you feel like you need to walk down LK looking at the ground sometimes.but we both go into gogo’s together sometimes and drink 🍺 together and she is my partner and best friend.wouldn’t change her for anything.. but I would love to be a newbie again.completely naive.those days were my best in my life.stay lucky Daz all the best and keep up your tip top work on utube regard Damon 👍🏼
Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery. Great information, very well presented in your video. My own personal experience in Thailand is that GOP is the way to go, in some instances of pay&claim the process took as long a 4 months for my reimbursement. Also, absolutely best to coordinate and confirm with both hospital and insurance prior to procedure. Some hospitals more accepting of GOP than others, my best experiences has been with top shelf Bumrungrad Hospital and also Bangkok Hospital. Some other highly rated hospitals here in Thailand absolutely refused GOP when dealing with a foreign or non Thai based insurance company or required an immediate "deposit" of 150,000 baht from me on admittance. Someone told me many years ago that you only really know how good your insurance company is when you need it or make a claim.
I was in Central Festival paying for groceries. The prices were comparable to western prices, especially the salad bar. An Australian woman in line with me asked if I had a card and showed hers to me. I assumed it was a discount card for regular customers.
Expat from Singapore, been doing Pattaya for years and Daz truly is the oracle. You’re never old or daft enough to learn this stuff. Something that can and will catch you out… More than a few bargirls really love a drink, and can overindulge. Imagine that LT dreamgirl you just coughed up for suddenly became a weary drunk, and guess what? She’s in your bed..! Been there more than once. That’s super weary and a big waste of your wedge. It’s smart to tune into exactly, what and how much she’s drinking.
Flights and girl prices have tripped in cost now after covid, it is now cheaper to hire a woman in Europe or the uk for a hour than it is in Pattaya now, the girls show no compassion at all and just after drinks continuosly, a lot of regular Pattaya tourists will not be returning this year due to the high prices and will be going to Phillipines, Cambodia instead where prices are a lot cheaper
Thank you so much for these stories and experiences and tips! Really found value in this channel! With Songkran coming up! And my first time visiting, Could you share some of your wisdom about Pattaya during that time? Where to go, what to do, what to expect etc. Thank you! 😊
I enjoy tequila shots with a lady sometimes. Extra few baht. First timers don’t contemplate your sticky money. Buy the lady a shot put a smile on her face and that smile could continue into your hotel. We all here for perpetual smiles 😁 Whatever floats your boat really. Just my opinion. If they want to visit the friends bar or go eat Thai bbq buffet which is delicious definitely go for the new adventure. It’s also to meet new people. I just recently bought cosmetics for a girlfriend in central Pattaya. She repayed me with a surprise wine dinner. That was nice of her. And yes everyone I have dealt with in Thailand have watsapp. You do have some interesting points though. I had a laugh at your jealousy lesson. Cheers
I've never been. But I worked with this guy. He was a lonely divorcee, about 50 yrs old. I've watched a few of your vids and he was absolutely as you describe. He came back with his mind blown. This young girl was now his girlfriend, he bought her a gold "eternity" ring before he left, was sending her a monthly wage. And of course - the clincher - his "girlfriend" just worked in the bar, she didn't go with men. He'd been very lucky to meet such a wonderful young woman who'd fallen madly in love with him. I mean, he was totally hook, line and sinker.
i am moving to Pattaya not to get laid. I am going to relax. All I need is a pool, gym and cheap cond for a year long rental. Are there bars without the "bar chicks"? Sports bars? I came to Thailand in 1990-1 and enjoyed myself tremendously...but now it is for legal greenery... not sex. I refuse to "dip my wick" in someone who hads had hundreds of drillers. In my youth... not an issue...NOW? not gonna happen
Two things I still see in SE Asia: 1) Young (and sometimes Old) newbies who say, "oh that will never happen to me." Right there you are vulnerable. These culture love fresh meat, they don't have to work as hard. That's why they love to ask you in the beginning, "So how long you live here?" 2) These are closed cultures, but we assume "no news is good news." Quite the contrary, no news could mean an ultimate disaster is waiting. Ask questions and don't assume anything.
I have never met a woman in the USA who valued a boyfriend above her dog. In fact, if they had to choose between never seeing their dog or their parents again, well, goodbye mom and dad.
I'm binge watching your videos. yours is one of the most informative on Thailand. yes, some repeated advice but your ladyboy tip at the end is genius! i just subscribed n like all of your videos
I love your videos. Everything you say about these woman here is SPOT ON! I have been living here in Jomtien for 3 months and like it. Only thing I have a problem with is the hot sun. I met this Thai lady last year on Thaifriendly when I was in America. I liked her and told her I would travel to Thailand to meet her. Well, I got here and everything was okay until she started begging me for money. These RU-vid videos, not only yours but many videos showed me the ropes. So I knew the score and didn't bite. She was beautiful and if I didn't do my research online with you guys, (RU-vidrs) I probably would have been broke on a corner with a barrel hanging around my body. So what I am saying is thank goodness for you guys warning us of the dreadful endings that will make men join the "Pattaya Flying Club" if you know what I mean! By the way, what's your name!?!? Cheers and thanks again for the forewarnings!
This is probably your best video with essential advice and recommendations for any foreigners, especially 1st timers visiting Thailand. I think the priority listing of 10 most important things to a Thai woman is totally correct and extremely important to understand for all foreigners regardless how long they have been in the land of smiles.
@@DanVerwoert1945 the vast majority of thai females would put family (or Buddhism) as number 1. Bar girls might be different but this list talks about Thai girls.”
