Hi Diane, could you pls advice on the techniques to apply when sewing with a beaded fabrics. I.e type of needle to use. I will be glad for your quick response.. Regards
Diane .... thank you so much .... can I ask are the shoulders for front and back going to be equal length as my back is slightly shorter about 5mm ... is that because my original shoulder dart was 1.5cm which is what I moved? Thanks Jayne
I have tried this technique so many times for plus size and something is not right when Get to the armhole. Could it be that the 1.5cm increases with the body measurement.?
Hello Luisa, With this bodice, the armhole change a bit in the front. You must fix the sleeve by enlarging the sleeve about 1 cm. slash the grain line and add parallel, than remove 0.5 on each side of the wrist. Diane
Hello Yashvardhan Singh Chouhan,No you should not remove the value of the dart at the side seam/waist. This block is to be use for shirt or loose fit bodice. I did a draping video showing why you can't remove the darts. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QljWIIwjmnU.html Diane

Hello Flora, I think you should use the t-shirt block instead, to have a balance side seam without the dart value. t-shirt ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZoieRVAVFGsk.htmlnit sleeve : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pHtKuB_743cD.htmliane
hello, the waist line of my dartless bodice always ends up below the original waistline at the side seam, is it normal? It seems like I can't close a 4cm shouler dart (with 3cm waistline dart) or even a 3cm shoulder dart (with 4cm at waistline) wthout the side seam finishing below the original one. Should I ajust the measurments of the openings at neck, armhole and shoulder to rectify?
Hello Fermi, I wish I could tell you that you could have a WOVEN fitted bodice block without darts or seam, but I can't. That dart less block is use for semi fitted or loose fit tops, like blouse or shirt. I even used it as a starting point to make my coat block and my bomber jacket. Diane
Hello Hathormage, Yes, there is going to be a little excess in the armhole and the neck, this block is good to use for shirt and semi fitted bodice. Diane
Hello Anna, If you do this one, you don't have to sew the waist dart, this block is good for shirt, blouse or looser fit top. But if you want a fitted bodice, you must have dart or seam like a princess line that pass by the apex, so you could eliminate the value of the dart and keep a good fit. Diane
Hi Sha, this would be a normal size 10, I say normal because the hip is a little more than standard size. It's the size of my basic block, and of all the pattern and garment I sew in my video. Diane
