Thank you 💕 so much for these tips, definitely going to try it, I'll see how to do this in Photoshop because I'm a painter. I'm so enthusiastic about repeating my repeat and changing it up in the middle, it blew my mind.

That 'side by side' is called a full drop. There's full drop, half drop, and half brick. Great video. I'll be using this doubling technique 😊

So smart! Great to see your real world examples too! Yep. Definitely going to try this. I am more advanced with illustrator so what you did made sense without me needing to ask additional questions.

Yes will be trying the doubling tip. Planning for success, what do I do when I have to turn down a commission because I am too busy? I hope to have plenty from which potential partners can choose, but I am a chronically ill being, and do not have all the energy I would like. I can do some things, but I want to know how to deal with having too many opportunities come in for my health. How do you say no without damaging future potential? Or is that even possible? ALso, I use the Affinity suite, but still find your technique videos useful, because most often the concepts can be translated to the other programs.

I'm glad you're finding use no matter the program you're using and so sorry to hear about chronic health issues! I like the idea of planning for success, but I also think it's helpful to concentrate on immediate next steps. Being over booked and having to turn down clients is what I'd call a "problem for future you" and not one you have to stress about as you start your journey. There are definitely ways to handle it when the time comes- being up front and communicating honestly or potentially taking on a designer that can help with overflow would be two things to keep in mind.

@@ElizabethSilver Thanks! Yeah, I guess part of me feels if I prepare for anything I can think of there will be fewer negative surprises LOL. Good advice, again :-}

At 12.42, you have what looks like a double or triple text image laid over each other.

Hi Elizabeth can we only make patterns in photoshop??

Not at all. You may use GIMP (which is FREE), Affinity Designer and/or Affinity Photo (which are cheap) or InDesign (which is costly but proprietary).
