Something I would like to point out about the Wally thing; Red spider lilies are also infamous for their pollen being dangerous to the lungs. An asthmatic boy like Wally shouldn't be around them, because their pollen would exacerbate his condition and hospitalize him if not kill him, especially if he's breathing heavily (like, idk, shouting commands to his Pokémon). PSA: Do _not_ fuck with those things if you have any lung problems.

@@alainataul3367 The "language of flowers", or the list of things specific flowers should be used to symbolize or be given as gifts for, got really specific in the early days of florists, using specific flowers to convey specific meanings in specific cultures; eventually, as larger flower markets coalesced, they just put every single meaning that each of these flowers developed as a set of larger lists. That's how a red spider lily is simultaneously a flower of death and birth, for instance. Wally might've specifically written with the meanings involved with the flower in mind.

My take on the zodiac theory is that both sides are kinda right. Lemme explain- I don't think they intended to match up Fire-type starters with the Chinese Zodiac at first at all. And then, some time in the future, when the theory came to light, they caught wind of it, had a good chuckle, and then realized, the Chinese Zodiac might be a good source for inspiration for future Fire-type starters, should they ever need it. Which would in fact explain why it's lined up consistently enough to fuel the fire for the believers, but not enough to convince the doubters
My guess for the question mark type arceus is that, in gen 4, curse had no type, it was just a question mark type move. Maybe based on having every type they were thinking about using that? Great video, of course.
It might have been a case where the sprite was in the game in case an arceus with the ??? type ever showed up in the game through a glitch or hacking, like with shiny mew. It was just crash-proofing
i assume the pokemon tower just has really thick floors, so each floor is like 4 feet deep, which works since most average people in the pokemon world would have stuff like pidgey or oddish not dragonite or arcanine, so they would not need much space... or, y'know, pokemon corpses can go in pokeballs
Each floor has grave that hold the body, instead of burying it instead. Burying the body would require bringing in dirt, while just having a box for the body to sit in is convenient spatially. (also it's done quite often in funeral buildings)

Japanese doesn't make any distinction between mice and rats in it's vocabulary, so Cyndaquil being classified as a mouse instead of a rat in english doesn't matter. Fennekin is also a canine which is directly related to dogs which is where that connection comes from. Tbh, what I personally think of the Zodiac Starter theory is that GF did have that design theme in mind late into GS's production (hence why the beta Fire Starter got changed into Cyndaquil's line away from the bear-canine design they originally seemed to follow) but sometimes when making new Fire Starters they don't want to JUST make the exact same animal as in the Zodiac so they try to be flexible about the design, hence why instead of making a more typical fire dog or fire cat, they instead went all in on making Fennekin become a magical girl or Litten grow up into a wrestler. Maybe they dropped the theme with Fuecoco or maybe one of it's evos will become one of the remaining animals in the Zodiac, can't really tell rn. That said, there's no doubt in my mind that, at least between Gens 2/3 to 5, the Zodiac Theme WAS GF's focus in regards to designing fire types, whereas from Gen 6 onwards it seems to moreso be a guideline they can be flexible in regards to as opposed to a concrete theme they are ride-and-die with
That Mimikyu thing scared the sh*t out of me when I was young. I was absolutely terrified of that Pokemon for years thinking that I would see it's terrifying insides...for some reason. But now that I'm more intellingent and no longer scared of it, Mimikyu has become one of my favorite Pokemon!

I think the darkest thing in pokemon overall, is the museum in gen 1 Kanto in Pewter City... One of the displays is a spaceshuttle, but not just any spaceshuttle: Spaceshuttle Columbia! For those not in the know, this was a shuttle that was still in use when gen 1 was created, but was lost on reentry reentry during the mission STS-107, killing all 7 crewmembers... So when the remakes were created, the shuttle was still in the museum as before, but renamed to just be a generic spaceshuttle.
On the Victini = Nuclear bomb thing: The dropping of the nuclear bombs were not the cause of the Japanese surrender in WWII, they were already in talks with the allies for surrender, and had basically let the allies know that they were going to accept their terms and were just arguing over the wording of the surrender. The dropping of the bombs was a show of force meant to scare the Soviets, since the US didn't know they had spies within the Manhattan Project and already knew about nuclear weapons
Couple things not mentioned: the unofficial racist Gengar distribution. Probably one of the rarest event Pokémon, tho it was never meant to exist in the first place. easy way to solve the 'cubone and kangaskhan' theory: the skull shape. the teeth placement is different and the nostrils are different too. cubone's skull has the nostrils to the side, while kangaskhan has them to the front.

@morepatterz 0:48 Well floors, even in modern buildings, are rarely just one layer. Usually there's room between your floor and the ceiling below, for piping and cables to be able to run through. So the dead pokemon would simply be buried in such a space.
The funny thing about that screenshot of Ash having like 4 guns pointed at him is, that episode wasn't banned! I remember watching it! And it even had bombs in it too! It baffles me that /that/ was deemed a-ok but Safari Zone guy pointing one gun at Ash is not ok (it could also have been b/c of Meowth's, moustache, but like, it's not like 4kids couldn't have edited that like they did plenty of other things).
I really don't like the "Arceus isn't really God" theories because it feels like just needless discourse over a figure of power in the Pokémon universe. I feel like it's most possible that Arceus was born from nothing, then created the Creation Trio (and also the Original Dragon because that theory is badass) alongside Mew, and the world was created for Mew to birth Pokémon as a species and populate it alongside humans.

OH! I actually have a potential explanation for how Pokemon Tower makes sense. Japan cremates their dead, so there's no bodies to bury. So it's just, tombstones/the ashes. So Pokemon Tower probably is the same way, there's no bodies, they've been cremated. So they can build upwards.
there isn't a shiny-making algorythm *in the games code* but it's still most likely that 2d era shinies were algorythmically decided, you just have to get a copy of the sprite, put it through the code in a computer, get the output, and put it in the gam, locksting made a whole video on how the algorythm likel worked

14:30 the reason that M/Missingno evolve into Kangaskan, is that Kangaskan is very early in RGBY's index number. Rhydon is literally number 1. So when trying to evolve, it'll use the next available index number. The Old Man glitch is only in Red and Blue North American Cartridges (might be in another translation, but after the glitch was found, they started patching it out), and the reason it works is that when you view the Old Man catching tutorial, your name temporarily gets stored in the wild Pokemon data. (because it shows the "OLD MAN" catching the Pokemon instead) and the coast of cinnabar we've gotten M and Missingno on haven't been programmed correctly, so they use the last encounter list possible. And your name changes what Pokemon appear. There are online calcs for if you want to specify specific Pokemon ect ect. And you can, instead of talking to the old man, go to the safari zone, pay the 500Poke fee, get an encounter, leave, and then surf on cinnabar to make catching Chansey, Tauros ect much easier. Also fun fact, the trainer Fly glitch (the Mew glitch's actually name) can be used to get any Pokemon. Mew's index number is 21, and the Slowpoke/Shellder in RGBY that are commonly used to get Mew have a special stat of 21. So if you get a Pokemon with a special stat of, let's say 182-184, you can do the trainer fly glitch and then after beating (or losing) to a trainer, go to wherever Ditto can be found, and have it transform into your Pokemon with 182-184 special and then run away. Go back to the route with the trainer you flew from, and you'll find either the Kabutops Fossil (182), the Aerodactyl fossil (183), or the Ghost (184) form of Missingno. Bulbapedia has a list of all Pokemon in gen 1 listed by index number, I'd recommend using it.

Imakuni also exists as an NPC in the GBA Pokemon Trading Card Game. He uses the 'Imakuni?' card sometimes, and you can get the card from him (mainly for completion sake). If you lose to him, he makes you dance before getting bored and leaving.

About the kyurem not fitting into the plasma category He may have been made ice because there wasn’t a crystal type and crystals (and ice) refract light An alternate theory is, because he was left in a meteor, the original dragon was split into 3, zekrom and reshiram flew/fell to earth, and kyurem was left a husk of the original dragon, a normal type that became ice type from the constant freezing imbuing it with that type So zekrom and reshiram are incarnations of its plasma energy, and kyurem is the original dragon left as a husk Husks are cold as well This is further supported by the fact the DNA splicer can combine the dragons, but only if one of the dragons is kyurem My theory is the DNA splicer was meant to be obtainable twice, and they didn’t have time to implement the double DNA fusion and the story surrounding it That or the god stone would fuse Black kyurem and White kyurem, but then you’d have to get 2 kyurems so it might’ve just not been convenient enough for a higher up 🤷♀️
Bruh. Pokémon Tower has thick floors for the dead Pokémon to be buried between. There is likely soft soil or a container for the body or ashes that they put it in. You don't need to dig THAT deep for a body.

There was one video (Dr Lava, I think?) talking about leaks stating that apparently X and Y were supposed to focus on aliens. Another thing that leak suggested was Nintendo wanting to add Luigi easter eggs for the Year of Luigi and how the "scary story man" was supposed to cause a Boo jumpscare. The leak said it was cut when developers realized kids would want to catch said Boo. So if that's true, then maybe you'd have needed to trigger the Boo event for the Ghost Girl to do something?
I'll argue that N doesn't use poke balls. My argument is as stands: the game is programmed to have the trainer sprites - all of them - throwing poke balls. N, however, only ever uses Pokémon in the immediate area against you. In the anime and the game, he also has a hatred of poke balls and how they ensnare and trap his Pokémon friends - because all Pokémon are his friends, even the ones owned by other trainers. If they had had the technology, don't you think they'd have made it so that he doesn't throw poke balls? As for the legendary at the end, we know from the movie that the Unovian legendaries travel around with the heroes, appearing when they feel they are needed. They don't need to be in a poke ball in order to choose to work with a trainer. We get confirmation in Legends: Arceus that a Pokémon can choose to fight alongside their person without being in a poke ball. N doesn't need poke balls; he only needs friends. Therefore, N does not use Poke balls.
For the tower question: you don’t bury the body. The body is either entombed in an above-ground stone casket or cremated and put above ground in a monument. Where my family is from in Greece, the ground is largely mountainous, so the graveyards are all above ground in stone boxes as the ground is too hard to dig deep.
I believe the Pokemon Tower isn't a typical graveyard but instead a mausoleum. A mausoleum is where the deceased are laid to rest and sealed away in above-ground structures that also act as memorials to those inside, and are often used by wealthy families to inter their departed relatives

The reason it's a tower and not a flat graveyard is because the traditional method of body disposal in Japan is cremation. They aren't buried mummified bodies. The towers are mosoleums holding the ashes of the departed.

i like to believe arceus used all its power to create the universe as it is, so after doing so was severely weakened, to the point of just being an extremely strong pokemon.
