I remember watching this live back in the day. I still have it recorded on VHS somewhere around here. Patti's vocals have always been on point. Love this performance...one of my favorites.

I remember watching this when it was on. I was 4 1/2 and still in preschool, and I was at my grandma's house that afternoon and she had it on in the kitchen. I remember the entire audience sang Happy Birthday and there was a balloon drop. I wish I could see it again.

Jerome Patton I remember that. She had more time then... I think on Oprah there was a time constraint. Tempo was faster and she didn't do as much as (i think she cut a verse also). Both awesome but she slaaaayed Live Aid. They weren't quite ready in 1985. If it were today I'm not sure they'd be ready either... Classic Patti! This song is one of my favorites by her. Bob Dylan, who wrote it, does it well. Rid Stewart & others also. Patti's interpretation is the best to me though.
