And in retrospect, all I can see is her soaking it in and realizing that this is it: she resigned from Equity shortly thereafter. Her last hurrah. Glorious.
the only standing ovation that i've seen that went longer is when hugh jackman stood up right after rock island in the music man performance that i saw
San Francisco, 1963-Judy Garland in concert. Hers was for just walking onstage after an incredible overture of her hit songs arranged by Mort Lindsay. I'm still in awe of that night.
I saw this same reaction for miss lupones final performance of sunset blvd. It happened twice xx Miss Lupone is a force of nature and an incredible talent! as long as I live Im thankful I got to see her perform live xxx
She is a Pro. An example to the next ggeneration. Thank God. Have you ever listened to her in interviews speaking about her training. Every young person wanting to enter "the business" should read up on this Artist. .
Doesn’t happen in London, the performers on stage are shown respect, and allowed the space to create. Also there’s very little howling and screaming from the audience…just appreciative applause…at the end!
Oh, get off it. I've been on both sides of the stage enough to tell you that nothing elevates a great theatre experience like an audience that can't hold it in till the last note. These people loved theatre, and it's great to hear that.
@@kaitlynrowena5463Because this was the closing performance of the revival. It's also possible that she was just extremely touched by the applause she was getting.
I've never really been a fan. She's talented, yes. But, by reputation, she's a pain in the arse! She on e walked out of a production for crying out loud!
I have worked with her. She is professional, kind, and fun to work with. You don't become a Patti LuPone by sitting by the sideline waiting for someone to notice you. She has been in this business for decades and has EARNED the reputation she owns. This is, by her announcement, the last musical she will do. Please tell me when she "walked out of a production. What production? Where? When? Dying to know.
