Brilliant Paul, My hook tier arrived yesterday so tried it today, it takes two aaa batteries. I had your video running along with my trial plus the sketches that came with the device. It took me about four or five attempts and eventually it tied the perfect hook, a Kamasan b911 size 18 using Reflo precision power 0.12mm. The line lies straight with no kinks and looks nice and tidy. I also gave it a strength test using a baiting needle and a disgorger, both were bending under the strain. So really happy with this Paul and would recommend to anybody, even if its just a birthday gift or the like. Thanks so much and all the best.

Paul watched this and as with all your videos very well done and explained ,went on e bay and couple of identical looking devices decided to choose one of the many on amazon went for rhe more expensive one with the most reviews .Hopefully It will be good if not can return to Amazon so no loss,also getting myself the supera ready four rod case to use as my main holdall for rods and pole,I don't fish matches anymore so making life easy on the bank is paramount traveling light.

@@paulstacklereviews1695 Got my electric tyer and as you say in your video I did struggle at first but after about a dozen failed attempts It started to come together and I am pretty good now bit more practice be even better.I was looking for some line to practice tying and came across some0.12 and 0.10 maxima line and decided to practice with that ties like a dream not sure its the same as the stuff i used to use In the 70s and 80s bit under stated in the diameter,going to give it a try for my natural water feeder fishing.Watched your preston shuttle video another great watch keep up the good work Paul, you weren't joking about the amount of tackle you take🙂.
Great review on this gadget… I’ve watched a few other videos on this hook tyer and yours is by far the best. Infact I’ve gone and bought one myself after watching your video. I’d been tying my own hooks for close on to 50 years but was finding it more and more difficult to see the smaller hooks and the dexterity in my fingers was going the same way as eyes, so decided to take the plunge.
Thanks for the good feedback. My yellow one has started playing up (after over 12 years use) so I bought a new one myself. Still tying great hooks, the spin mechanism is a bit faster though!

Thanks for the good feedback. After I’ve got everything out in front of me (line, hooks, device, loop tier and hook box) it’s a couple of minutes from start to then in my box, you definitely get quicker, I don’t tend to rush. I don’t especially like tieing hooks (prefer doing rigs!) tend to spend a couple of hours every now and again topping up the hook boxes.

@@paulstacklereviews1695 Paul I know there are dozens of variations of the same tyer on e bay and amazon do you have a name for the replacement you bought i see a"leo" version on e bay that looks like a toy gun with a handle shape I fancy this one as the one I bought from amazon has broken have to send it back,just as I had got the hang of it.
You push the spade end into the orange holder which goes into the device a bit whilst sliding the black button. When you release the black button it holds the hook under tension.
I acquired one of these c/w instructions but couldn't get on with it so sold it with some other tackle. Now I've seen how it's done I may try again. What is the smallest hook that the device can tie. I tend to use 20-24 hooks to 0.06 0.08 on drains and rivers and I sometimes get the pig tail.
I generally use hooks sizes 10-20, but just found my old hook box with a 22 Drennan silverfish match in it and tied it using the machine no problems to 0.08 (didn’t have anything smaller or lighter!).
