It’s 2023 and I’m just now hearing and seeing this for the first time. You two are simply amazing!!!!! I’m a lifelong Ian and Tull fan. Have attended many many concerts since 1971. You have nailed Ian’s voice from the past. Congratulations are in order,
Tenho 67 anos.
Mind blowing. Musical perfection from both, and Paul has found out how to channel Ian Anderson's voice and delivery flawlessly. Simply amazing, and beautiful.....
Oh my God! I never expected to get a response from you, Marcie! I am thrilled! I've been an avid lover of music my entire life, and I was so happy to come across your video here. I was a teenager when Jethro Tull came upon the music scene, and I fell in live with their music, as well as Ian Anderson's entertaining theatrics immediately. You and Paul did the group more than justice! I still can't believe I'm corresponding with such a talented & gifted musician such as yourself! (I'm in the process of learning piano on my own, but I know I will never reach your level of musical expertise). Thank you for your unexpected reply here, and may God bless you and Paul in all that you do. Dave....
Very nice version. Benefit was the second ever LP I bought (1972 I think) and Sossity was my favourite song on the album in those days - played it over and over. Been a Tull fan ever since then. Thanks for posting this video.
I have watched both of you perform many Jethro Tull songs and I cannot create superlatives to express my amazement at the quality of your renditions. The vocals, guitar is spot on. The flute is amazing. Keep it up.
Marcie, Paul. We appreciate you Usually covers don't approach the original. Paul's voice perfect tone. IMO. I saw Tull in 72' Listening in Columbia, South Carolina. I'm so happy I stumbled on to you
Awesome..........My best friend played the new JT. album in my bedroom with a Black light..........as a young teenager/ musician, I knew that I was instantly hearing something REALLY different.
Hey Marcie Nice to meet you Sat. WOW you are right I would not have recognized Paul if he knocked me over! Can't believe I missed this performance. I was on the Empty Sea mailing list around this time. Love that studio.
Lovely! I never compare covers to originals because it's important to recognize effort and talent independently....and therefore I applaud your rendition, effort, and execution!
Always one of my favorites. I've been to a couple of Tull concerts. Paul and Marcie are truly gifted; it's as if they've channeled Ian Anderson. You can close your eyes and it's like being at a Jethro Tull concert. One of the best covers of an artist, period!
Greetings from Pakistan and an old Tullie .! You guys make a good team for JT cover songs. Sossoti is one of Tulls not so common song. Anderson has probably never done it live. Keep it up. Would like to hear more of such songs which are rarely heard. Would love to have guys do Journeyman, one of my favourites.
Thanks for your kind comment. "Journeyman" is a great song, but that signature bass line would be sorely lacking in any rendition of it we'd perform. 🙂
Thank you for reminding me, with your incredible rendition, just how truly great a song this really is. Unfortunately, now I can't get it out of my head. I guess that's not such a bad thing. Thanks again.
Wow, that's a pretty good rendition and your voice even sounds very close. Sossity was always one of my favourites, although uncle Jethro has written some great songs and music over the years. We always thought of him as the family musical genius.
another great one.. that is a very difficult song to do.. that you took it on and did such a marvelous job. I would like to see you live if you're still performing when this Covid mess is over..
This is one of my favorite songs from Benefit....you guys do a really admirable job here....have watched a number of your videos...there are a number where you guys are really "on"....some of the best "Tull Tributes" I've seen.
He sounds just like Ian Anderson who I`ve seen live with Tull. Missed a chance to see him solo- DAMN! Her flute is a little more sanitized than Anderson but she plays perfectly. Plus I think she`s cute.
Awesome Paul. Awesome Marcie. Keep the legend going. First rate. It is time for Paul to headline Jethro Tull and yes replace Ian. To continue , Ian needs to pass the torch to Paul. Would love to see you live. Please tell me when and where. I am in southern Cal and my daughter and I used to do the same thing but at the local Jethro Tull concerts in the parking lots. Canadians call it busking. Thank you, great job
