I don’t like long documentaries & I saw part I 14 min & thought ok 2 parts 14 min each, I’ll be done in 30 min. 7 parts later I’d realized that I just couldn’t stop watching it, fascinated by the story of a man I didn’t really know much about other than a strong man. The thing I was most impressed by was the way he spoke with such confidence & power!

I had the pleasure of meeting Paul Anderson at the First United Methodist Church in Palestine, Texas when I was about 15 or 16. He did amazing feats of strength, but more amazing was his faith in Jesus Christ. He made quite an impression on me, and I still have the Bible he autographed. I have never witnessed such strength both physically and spiritually.

How have I not heard of this Man???I ive lifted weights for 25 years and Know quite a bit about the history of Bodybuilders and athletes ,Strongmen etc etc..I've been Saved for over 18 years now and know quite a bit about whos who and who was famous in in the Christian arena contemparaies and within the last 1000 years and NOT ONCE WAS This man ever mentioned!!!! This Mans story is the Most inspirational I have ever heard in My entire Christian walk !!! Gave up the fame and fortune Humbling himself before The Lord and became a servant of God dedicating the remainder of his years helping troubled children and Giving God Alll the Glory Magnifying His Name and Challenging people to seek Him out!!!!!! This Guy just became My hero and He NEEDS RECOGNITION FOLKS For all His Achievements not only for His Athleticism but for what he sacrificed for others doing Gods will and leading people to Christ!!! Just shows you how crooked christianity really is These days sweeping him under the rug Like they did , But the World is understandable Because the Bible clearly states " Be not of the World".....Best Video series Ive seen in Decades and reminds me of Sampson in allot of ways and I didn't see the christian thing coming But when it did I got so CHOKED up I teared up and new this Man was a True Man of GOD and God Had a plan and purpose for Him from the Moment He was in His mothers Womb to use Him in a Mighty way!!!!

John Dixon here. Me too. Just astonished, deeply changed in viewing all of these historical facts. This world not only sweeps greatness under the rug, they martyr each every man or woman of God that truly is here to change the nations. It is always this way. We must band together by God's authority to take the domain. It's our birthright, OURS ALONE IN GOD. By divine right we can have all that God has said we can have. Bless you for your words, insights & LOVE MY BROTHER. John Dixon, Noblesville, Indiana, I'm here for to be counted as worthy by Him alone, and needing approval by no man.

Many people in the weight lifting community hated Paul Anderson because of his Christianity. My situation was similar to yours. My dad and I loved weightlifting. But dad hated Christians. He told me about all these great lifters and said nothing about Paul Anderson. I saw a photo of Paul Anderson in the Guiness Book of World Records in the early 1970s. That was how I heard about Paul Anderson. I never knew about his Christianity until now. But it explains why people pretend he didn't exist.

Jason Wiles Jason remember this forever. TRUE people of GOD are always suppressed, no matter who they are. I mean how often did you hear of Billy Graham, just for a example. On the other hand, the evil people of our times, are always in the public eye. I am not a richous man, but I know and believe in Jesus. Nothing else matters.

I had the privilege of seeing and listening to Paul Anderson when he visited Morningside Baptist Church in Valdosta, Georgia. This was around 1979-80. I saw him drive the nail and other feats. He was someone who creates an episode in your life when you see him and hear him speak. To this day I am still amazed at how fast this large man stood up from his chair when the pastor introduced him. If you think about it, people just don't stand up from a seated position very fast. To see a 300+ pound man stand up faster than I have ever seen anyone stand, is an episode I will always have.

In my youth I too did a bit of weight lifting and read a lot of magazines and had heard of the great Paul Anderson but I never knew of his great love for the Lord. I never knew of his later years and the struggles that he endured either. I too am a man of God and our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and God's Word translated for us in the King James Bible. And now I have an even greater admiration of this great man. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this magnificent video you have given us.

I remember watching Paul in interviews as a youth. I was so amazed at his accomplishments, and his presence on stage. Amazing man. While I have finally let go of religion in my own personal life, I can certainly appreciate the positive influence it has had on many people, including Mr. Paul Anderson.

Very well-done documentary. It's wonderful how God wants us to follow our dreams and He only knows how much he directs us in helping us to accomplish that. He'll use that also to further His word in the person and others. In my semi-retirement stage of life I took on school bus driving. This year I have three male students that I've tried and tried to get them to stop making trouble to the point I wanted them off my bus. So I prayed and prayed for an answer of what I could do that I haven't tried. Little by little the answer came to me and it sure appears to be the solution so far. I'm sure God will teach me more as time goes on.

Aside from his iconic strength, what's also awesome about Paul anderson is that he didn't have that artificially enhanced muscle mass look nor that typical " bodybuilder" look. He looked natural, huge, powerful and his accomplishments speak for themselves. He is indeed one of my favourite strongmen and inspirations.

I met Paul Anderson when I was 8 years old and I'll never forget it. We won the little league championship that year and he came and did an exhibition for the town. I'll never forget the strength, honesty, and humility in his eyes when I looked at him. He inspired me to lift weights, but I never came close to him. Where are our role models like Paul Anderson anymore? What a role model Paul was.

One time I witnessed a real aggressive brutal young tough guy from da hood hollering and taking a steel-bar to a BMW-driver over a red light spat. When TWO Anderson-sized gentle guys emerged from the BMW holding their hands out to greet the steel-bar, that coward's eyes popped and his jaw dropped, and he crept back off to his car without another word said. Nuff said about brutes, bullies and cowards when the chips are down and reality calls.

Overall, a good video. I did laugh a time or two when the dates didn't quite match the cars in the videos. The director/host was talking about an event in 1954 or 55, and there, in the old newsreel, was a 57 Chevy. Ooops... Impressive person was Paul Anderson. I'm an Exercise Physiologist by education, and I kept thinking about his high school teammates talking about Paul's speed. Natural speed is heavily influenced by an abnormally high percentage of a certain muscle type, which is also the primary determining factor in physical strength. Sure would have liked to see some muscle tissue samples of his, in his prime, he must have been overloaded with fast twitch, anaerobic muscle fiber. It's about the only thing explaining his massive size gain in just a couple of years after high school. He might have also had an extra growth spurt after high school. That would account for the mention of steriods. He would have got them naturally, if he had an extra growth cycle. It's also possible the kidney problem influenced his physical development, but I can't say how, as I don't know enough about the kidneys to explain how. Something happen, and it wasn't just his junkyard weight set, though he was definitely into overload training; think about two 55 gallon drums of concrete. THAT'S some serious training weight. Those old all steel tractor wheels were be nothing compared to 110 gallons of concrete, AND a bar heavy enough to not bend from the weight of the concrete. AND those tractor wheels are not light, either.

you have got to be kidding me. 191 thumbs up? 21,000 views. Should be required viewing for all kids :-) as just good understanding in just how important it is to have a relationship with Jesus the Christ. He is the way. He is the life. We must know his power through his Love. The Creator knows you and wants only to give you that Love. Remove yourself from this place ( material world) and find yourself through that Love. The whole "god thing" was a bit much. Otherwise it was amazing what he could do, with limitid ressources of training gear and nutrition. Modern day strongmen almost look a little fake compared to Paul Anderson. Like a 6'9 Julius Hafthor Bjornson, who is juiced up over the top, and not that much stronger than Paul Anderson, if even. Good documentary.
