I don't know the man but I smiled while watching this video. He looks like a very cool guy who loves what he does.

People sometimes say things like "when the cover overcomes to the original". Despite people think those covers are like "new" original songs without realizing who really made those songs. And it also might happen in vice versa. Depending who's listening songs (if they're original or covers/adaptations of same). I think versioned covers are targeted for a different kind of audience.
