He turns the ball over too much, misses at the rim far too often which is as bad as a turn over, and makes the starting line up spacing terrible. Thats why. For the team to thrive it’s necessary.

I think it's all in how Coach Ty Lue handles this. I am not sure The Clippers will be able to consistently win at the pace Harden plays at? I have a feeling they are going to eventually have to find a way to go back to Russ' pace. If you watch The Warriors, they are struggling playing at a slower pace(the CP3 minutes mostly but also overall as a team with Green leading the offense less) Most of the really good up and coming teams play at a quicker pace. There are a few that play slow and are having success but i think the eye test and data don't lie. Russ had an immediate impact on the offensive end and The Clippers didn't lose much defensively even though Russ himself isn't a 3pt shooter or a top defender. It was his ability to raise the level of play of his teammates that made Russ so suited for The Clippers. Especially PG and the other role players. Kawhi is Kawhi, he doesn't need much help to be boss offensively but Russ got him a lot more easy buckets as well. We'll see if Harden has that same type of impact. Currently i don't see it. I think playing that slow requires near perfection on both sides of the court and especially on the defensive end. So the net margin likely won't be as large as it was with Russ. They will be in a lot of close games that could go either way. I think they should play 30-34 mins at Russ' pace and simply move him off ball the last 5 mins of the game but leave him on the court for defense, offensive rebounding, cutting to the basket, etc..... Use him like Denver uses Aaron Gordon at closing time but for the majority of the game, put the ball in his hands and increase his usage. Russ is too good of a basketball player and athlete to be sitting on the sidelines at the end of games and is solid on the catch and shoot corner three. A closing lineup of Kawhi, Harden, PG, and Russ will work.....even though i do understand liking Powell or Mann over Russ.....for so called spacing, but for me i want the best players on the court and i do like having a big that can rebound late in games, so PJ doesn't really work for me, Theis isn't a good enough shooter for spacing, and Zu clogs up the middle. I think The Clippers need a Vucevic or Reid that can space and actually be a threat from 3, then the 4 stars can close together comfortably.

Harden should be coming off the bench for sure. He can be the main scorer and run more iso that way. Russ makes plays for other players, harden doesn’t.

Also Westbrook fans need to accept the fact that harden is simply a better fit than him in the starting lineup. He can space the floor and facilitate at a higher lvl than Russ, allowing PG and Kawhi more room to operate
