Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti speaks on OKC's blockbuster trades of Paul George to the LA Clippers and Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets. Presti thanks Westbrook for his everlasting contributions to the franchise and the community, while saying he "thinks the world" of Paul George. 4:40 - it wasn't "mutual" but it wasn't adversarial. I think you never mutually want a superstar to leave... but you can be mature enough to recognize when your current superstar team no longer works and you need to restart ... OKC was never going to win with Westbrook and PG-13. Maybe one of them and a new supporting cast and a new all-star supporting them, but OKC would have been naive not make the trades.

New Cba... new free agents aren't allowed to talk to players under contract for a set period of time after their contracts are up. So for example, Leonard(or anyone in his camp) couldn't reach out to Paul Geiger during this set period of time, but could reach out to Kevin Durant (another free agent). For example, if Leonard was reaching out to join the Lakers, he could request to speak to a player like lebron with approval from the front office of the Lakers while during this "quiet period". Players can recruit to their respective teams, but free agents couldn't recruit players under contract to different teams. Another example is players who have gone passed the "quiet period" like Carmelo, he can talk to whoever, free agent or player under contract. Long story short, new free agents aren't allowed to talk to players under contract during the free agency period. Give the players more money in the cba for this.

And Steve Kerr (not to mention media and fans) is using all of his energy in attacking the AD situation when PG and Kawhi basically did the same thing, even after Kawhi just recently won a title. Not that it wasnt obvious before but standards are really different from 1 player to another.

I've lost all respect for Paul George in the last couple of years. It has nothing to do with him not choosing to sign with my lakers or going to the clippers, it's about how he handles himself. How that decision last year was made and now this... That press conference they had the other day was so cringe worthy, he lied his ass off there just to appease to the front office. You were their last choice buddy, they couldn't get KD, Harden or Butler, so they went for you. And now they all acting as if this was the plan all along and they always wanted PG. He was a free agent last year...
