Do you think that the Thunder will have their pick or the Clippers pick? They are really close in the playoff race and play each other again tonight after playing 2 days ago. If OKC win again, and beat the Lakers tomorrow, the Clippers and Thunder will be tied in the standings. The West is super interesting down the stretch.

I don’t think that ever would have happened. What would have been more likely is a starting 5 of Russ-Oladipo-KD-Grant-Horford since horford was leaning OKC if Durant re-signed. Wish we could have seen that though… remember Sabonis was raw at that point and Horford was a veteran floor spacing big coming off a dominant Atlanta team. A shooting big is something we desperately needed all the years we had Russ and KD

@@therealneal3034 I mean, they don't really have enough offense with PG out. Not sure what they plan on doing with Russ, nor am i sure as to how much of a role he played in those six? straight losses as a starter. And they really don't need to lose every game, just like six.

@@undergrounddojokeyboardcag701 a lot of those losses were the team just not locking in defensively, those were one or two possession losses for the most part. I think if EG locks in a bit and Mann steps up like he should, they lose maybe 3 or 4, not quite 6.

If youre familiar with Hockey (I doubt it lol) but theres a guy on RU-vid called steve Dangle who does trade trees gonig through the big trades in Hockey history going through the draft picks, who they became, and what all the pieces got the team that traded the big player and how the team that traded for the big player fared. Its an awesome way to show the results of big trades and to guage how good or bad they were actually. I think with your level of content, something like that would be awesome. I think youd kill the concept and do it justice.

@@DeeJaySmoke978 Yeah Im Canadian, so naturally a Hockey guy lol but his trade tree videos (though he hasnt made one in a while) were really really good. It was a simple concept but it REALLY showed how good or bad a trade was. You didnt realize at first glace how a trade got a team the next big player in a draft or a championship like 5-10 years down the line but with that video concept and format it made it interesting to see. Like we all know Brooklyn trading for Pierce and KG got the Celtics Tatum and Brown but it also got them Kyrie Irving. I know thats a simple example but so many pieces in big trades throughout NBA history that resulted in huge pieces down the line. Id love deep dives on trades for KG, Ray Allen, Pau Gasol, Carmelo to Denver, Dallas trade that got them Dirk, the deal that got Chicago Pippen, and so on.

The SGA trade was first. And you’re missing the biggest factor. Ibaka was traded for all of it. Ibaka was traded for oladipo and sabonis who were traded for pg which turned into all this.

@@YodaSmokes you’re right the Westbrick trade happened after. I didn’t like the PG trade bc I don’t like players playing w Westbrick I knew they were gonna fail. But he for sure made up for it and then some.

@@theprocessss however I won’t take the Westbrook slander. Dude is a legendary future HOFer and deservedly so. He normalized the triple double, and during his MVP season put together one of the best seasons ever, both in terms of statistics and clutch time play. He hit more game winning shots that season than I can even remember. Easily my favorite season to look back on, despite the fact we’ve had more successful seasons.

@@therealneal3034 No he doesn't deserve it. He has been amazing and a great surprise, but we can't forget the first part of the season. It is rookie of the year, not rookie of the last half of the season. Paolo, on sheer numbers is having one of the better rookie seasons of all time. Wiliams has been great though and has made it interesting, but it should still be Paolo, and honestly shouldn't be close.

Paul George was on the last year of his deal so teams didn’t want to put that much risk outside the lakers but the they thought they was getting in free agency Okc only got that much because kawhi forced them because he said he wasn’t going to sign with them unless they get pg and pg was on a multi year deal Okc almost traded with raptors but the raptors didn’t want to give up free and pascal

Saying Jalen Williams is better than Paolo is like saying Aaron Gordon is better than Tatum because he’s more efficient. JDub is a good role player that plays off of a 31ppg scorer, while Paolo is being asked to be a high volume iso scorer.

@@AaronTats no, JDub is just really good 😂 he goes off when Shai isn't playing, excellent facilitator, plays hard (1.4 Steals per game) and has excellent basketball IQ. I do think Paolo will win tho

If you want to use advanced stats, don’t only use the ones that strictly apply to make the player you like more look better than the other, which is what you’re doing with shooting. Even so, you’re not using important stats like openness rating (a big aspect on determining shot quality). You also don’t bring up the play style advanced stats that factor in P&R, Isolation, and transition play (very important aspects of offense) probably because it strongly goes against your argument about Jalen Williams being better than Paolo.

It definitely turned out much better than I think anyone thought it would, but we need to see how far The Kings can get in the playoffs before I can safely say it was worth trading Haliburton for.

Because Haliburton is an amazing player. Trading a player that’s only 23, playing the most valuable position on the guard and is averaging 20/10 on efficient shooting splits is crazy. Sabonis is obviously great but he’s more replaceable than a player like Haliburton.

And it's funny because everyone keeps saying that injuries are the only thing holding the Clippers back... so the bubble should have been the perfect scenario for them.. they should've benefited from the bubble more than anybody else considering they have the most injury prone stars.
