My argument is that humans are the *unknown variable* that "Existence" has tossed into the existential arena to see what we can come up with. Our job is to challenge the current evolutionary template, judge it, and make changes accordingly. We often operate in direct opposition of biological evolution, and many judge nature's "predator and prey" template as being overly heartless and cruel. I tend to agree! Humans (being the "unknown variable") then decide that we can come up with a "better template" than what nature has provided. ... *But this is not without consequences!* Many of our "upgrades" to nature's template can easily be seen as beneficial (not eating meat, ecological conservation, protecting / rescuing wildlife, etc.) whereas others don't seem to be panning out quite as well (gender identity, social equality, chemical / biological engineering, etc.). There's nothing wrong with challenging the status quo of nature, ... but there's no guarantee that every challenge we initiate will result in success.

Transhumanism was used in India for enhancing the lifespan of very important people who had exceptional intelligence and abilities. Some tests in Jainism speaks of their enlightened beings extending their life span for many thousands of years.

Real philosophy is union with God by imitation. Wisdom is disobjectification from all phenomena and transitory things as God is none of these but simple. True yoga is the same: control of the senses and redirecting the mind within as opposed without. Philosophy is not epistemology like Westerners would have you Philosophy at the core is spiritual and Wisdom.
