In this weekly 'history lesson' we talk about Paul Harris (this is part of "Paul Harris week" as ALL the magic I'm posting this week was learned from Paul & his teachings) We'll look at David Copperfield performing Paul's "Immaculate Connection" and we discuss recommended reading / learning for Paul's magic. Plus I perform and teach "Twisted Collectors"!

It's amazing just how much innovative magic Paul Harris came up with. How can one mind be so fertile? You could build a whole career out of what's in those three Art of Astonishment volumes. For those who love the concept of linking cards, there are actually three different routines in Vol. 1, so there's plenty for you to experiment with! No-one who saved up their pennies for these pricey tomes ever regretted it.

Thanks Doug , really appreciate the brief history of the tricks and the magicians, idk why David Copperfield always weirded me out even though he sounds like Carl Sagan whom I'm a fan of . 😋🤪🤔

These history lessons are great and with a trick are even better. Can you Zoom in more on the manouvers is all I'd say. Paul Harris is a 'charactor' indeed

What the hell?? In elmsley you are allways showing the bottom most card how you do it? When you put the shown ace into the packet while displacing the four cards that leaves the just shown ace bottom most card, one selection face down on top of it and the four cards you put on top. Do the elmsley you will show same ace again if its he most bottom?
