What I would give to go back to this time in Australia and appreciate it in a whole different way compared to what we have now. Australia was still a fair go place back then. Then Howard and Costello got into power and began the erosion process.
When a charismatic leader like PK leads the state, pride will be like a positive energy goes on through citizens. How sad we don't have him any longer!
V.S now, where all the gov does is make a motion that the member no longer be heard because they can’t string together one sensible sentence let alone an argument 😭
After this political giant labor tried to get back into power with Creene and Beasley. Now we have had Shorton and now Albo who have as much clout as that warm lettuce. When will we get some talent to run this country again?????
Albo is doing a great job! It is hard to win hearts and minds when you have Rupert setting the daily script for all newspapers and TV programs in this country. Keating does not disagree that the media in this country are strangling the efforts of the Labor movement to be heard. Morrison won the last election with no policies, no vision, and no experience. Rupert bullied Shorten out of the election race. All Morrison had to do was follow Rupert's daily script.
@@peterlalor5902 Yes murdoch is big problem, but morrision is a huge fail and Albo is not going for the jugular. It's all lets be nice and not tread on anyone toes or as you put it doing a great job. Unless he grows a pair he will go the same way as Shorten and we will have another COALition government after the next election.
@@peterlalor5902 Albo's not doing a good job. He's avoided every possible debate with the worst government in the country's history, selling out his constituents in the process. He could hardly look weaker. He's polling worse than Bill Shorten ever did and the buffer the ALP has enjoyed due to Covid related issues (the only point of difference he's willing to declare) is going to vanish once the country's opened back up.
@@anthonynenna1697 Albo goes hard in parliament if you actually watch it unedited. Go watch any recent publicized debate in Australia between leaders in recent history - they ask the libs soft and harmless questions, they ask labour trick questions and chop up the responses. Scomo doesn't actually touch on anything real he's just marketing and buzzwords - there's no debate to be had. Only a fool would give free ammo to Murdoch - if you wanna see Albo's fire, watch unedited videos of parliament. Just skip through the boring bits.
Well of course Keating gets it correct again. We have lived his years for nearly 30 years until the conservative side pit us under (again). Again we call on Labor to clean it up. Now the 3 trillion debt@
Well actually that whole Idea and others about the gov having to balance a budget like it's the same as a household has been debunked by prof Steve keen and many others who know that neoclassical model and other dogmas is absolute bs. Shame keating didn't live now when we know this and see the insanity of it in covid, not shutting the country down and letting ppl die to not rack up a debt when the $ are made by the gov and they can while the debt the same way. Dogma and half baked tenets leading to deaths of thousands
Paul is bitterly unhappy and obsessed with outdated class war. A throwback - to Irish 19thC grievances against the English and the so-called Protestant work ethic. To see this played out in contemporary Australia is nonsense. People emigrated here to get away from that dinosaur stuff.
Yeah, it's pretty clear you don't seem to understand that "class war" is simply the balance between those holding the money and the workers, and it will never go away or be outgrown. And your comment about why people emigrated to Australia really illuminates your own heritage.
We desperately need this man, prior to his imminent demise, to be the star of his television comedic mini series. Surely, a world wide hit of greater importance than Yes Minister. Then, a man made hill adjacent to the “place”could be named Keatwood - a tourist attraction more popular than Uluṟu. Absence of humour renders life laborious.
