Never thought I'd agree so strongly with Kent on something. He's 100% correct saying that Latrell takes everything personally. I've watched a lot of games this year and in lots of tackles Latrell has to get up and shove people. What annoys me more is when he grabs them and tries to push their head into the ground. I'm not saying he's the only one that does it but he's got a real chip on his shoulder. It's weird that he interprets everyone else's actions as malicious but then fractures his mates cheekbone and somehow everything's all good. No apology , no nothing. Just swallow your pride for 80 minutes and have a bit of fun playing the thing you're paid 800k to do.

At the time Trent didn't defend him instead he acknowledged that Victor needed to change his technique. I don't know why but there's a whole cadre of explayers who are apologists for Latrell. All that does is enable that sort of behaviour when he needs to change it.

Alot of people have got it twisted, why go after the policing of the bunker or ref? The only offence towards them should be a late review & call about the incident. Don't over shadow the offence Latrell committed to by using the bunker or ref as a scapegoat. That's the name of the game when comparing game played in the 80s and 90s. Winning a premiership means stopping the opposition from scoring points. Key players are to be marked and stopped from setting up plays and scoring tries. Latrell's penalty is hash. We expect to more of these kind of plays towards the final rounds and semis.

If Latrels shoulder hit 10cm lower, they would have said great shot. At speed, they all know accidents happen. The whole media are now acting like drama queen. It was aggressive defense gone wrong. There were other tackles in the game with worse intent than that one. The ref, the touch judge who was 6 metres away, the bunker, all the tv commentators, even players on the field missed it until Manu got up and the saw his face. They didn't react because it happens all the time.

I’m SSTID and I love Latrell and his flair but even for me that was over the top. The hit itself was bad enough but the carry on after when he threw the ball at the rooster players head with no real remorse for what he has done was just too much. At the end of the day you go out to win, but win with integrity, pride and respect. Win by being the better team through skills not through grubby acts. Not to mention these blokes are supposed to be good mates off the field, I understand when you pull an opposition jersey on that your enemies for those 80 minutes but fuck me if I hit my supposed good mate I would be concerned about his welfare then and there regardless of the state of the score. At the end of the day it’s just a game, no one wants to see anybody hurt badly by a violent act that could have been avoided. The repercussions of that split second decision has not only ended the rest of Latrell’s and Joey’s season but arguably has immensely lowered the chances of South’s winning the premiership, so now the whole team has to suffer from his actions. I've watched all the Roosters games this year and from memory there was only one player injured by Roosters players snd that was the guy Victor hit in the leg trying to charge down a field goal attempt which he got ten in the bin for and the player continued in the game. The crowd at the game seemed to enjoy the game, I heard the fake crowd audio they play do the booing only during the incident. Just because a guy is strong and an injure has happened people are reacting the way they are. If he didn't get injured noone would care, these tackles happen every single game but this time a serious injury occurred.

What makes latrell any different from all those past players we celebrate who used to go out there and uppercut and headbutt blokes? It was an accident. We've all played footy and tried to put on a big shot thats come off wrong. Give him a break.
