Seeing Paul's facial expression under that helmet brings a tear to my eye. He looks so guilty. I had the pleasure of meeting Rustam before and after the match. He and Paul both seem like really nice people.
Look at the whole body muscle on Rustam! esp. those biceps.. thick and solid for the frame. The man is tight solid as rock it seems. It's sad that match ended this way. Wonder why they didn't made the match "no contest" of sort 🤷
I rooted for Rustam because he's my guy :) but huge kudos to Paul for his whole attitude towards the sports in general and all his opponents in particular. Nothing but respect for both guys. Speedy recovery Rustam!
Engin abi omuzların aynı hizada olmasının yanında sağ ve sol omuzun eşit yükseklikte olması gerekmiyor mu? Paul' un sağ omuzu çok aşağıda başlıyor. Karşıdan bakarken çapraz durması normal mi?
The injuries that these worldclass armwrestlers get are just jawdropping, torn/severed tendon/muscles or broken bone(s). Great match sad it ended the way it did. Amazing to witness/watch these champions.
Tough match tough outcome. Wish for a speedy recovery for Rustam. Still the win is well earned for Paul and he showed that his manners and sportsmanship is just as high level as his armwrestling.
@@mustajabquliyev2309 And just why do you think Rustam got injured? I'll tell you because they tested frames and at that point Paul's was stronger. Got nothing to do with luck unless you consider one's tendons and ligaments stronger luck.
I'm sure Paul would've rather won 3-2 rather than Rustam getting injured, but if your opponent cannot continue because they were injured during a round, then that's a part of combat sports.
Plan C needs to be plan A in the rematch! It will be a banger! Great job Champ! Now we know! For those of you who think Paul wasn’t in that match, y’all are mistaken. There is a reason it’s best of 5.
Would have been great to see how it would have ended up without the injury! Looked like it would of been a good hook battle of attrition. Good fight, good sportsmanship, hope for a good recovery for Rustam.
@@faith3702 He is 40, thats not close to being old and getting weaker in any way in armwrestling unless you have a lot of injuries, and judging by his speed, he didnt slow down with age either either
I wonder why do muscles give up sometimes and tear up even if the load isnt max. For example Devon got his bicep literally ripped open, Levan was opening his bicep with lightning speed while Devon was contracting his bicep, and these two opposite forces just tore the bicep like it was made from paper. But here Babaev wasnt redlining, he was in a regular armwrestling position where he is every day every training session, and suddenly it pops.... why? is it dehydration like in the case of Eddie Hall, is it mineral imbalance causing cramping, or is it something else? Strength athletes fear tearing a muscle more than anything else, but how do you prevent these unnecessary tears that seem to occur in the most unlikely positions? Take sodium and magnesium before the match with lots of water? Stretch the whole body before training and/or match?
@@deathdragon7934 You are absolutely right, he was in a bad position, what meant and didnt say clearly is that armwrestlers are in these dangerous positions all the time, and they almost never seem to get injured. Michael Todd is in that position almost every round, he is kingsmoving, totally loses pronation, and when he regains center at least a little bit, he quickly tries to stand up and transition to the press, even thought his pronation is still non existent and his wrist is behind him. One would guess that if Babaev tore his peck after losing a bit of pronation, then Michael Todd should rip his peck off almost every round, and most armwrestlers every couple months, because they are in these defensive positions all the time, I remember Travis Bagent with his right hand has many videos with the exact same position, where he tries to attack by jerking the hand, and wins the round eventually.
