The Panthers beat the Edmonton Oilers 4-1 in Game 2 of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final on Tuesday and have a 2-0 lead in the series.

On Monday night, the Panthers trailed 1-0 before Niko Mikkola tied the score in the second.
Evan Rodrigues scored twice in the third - including on the power-play resulting from the Barkov hit - with Aaron Ekblad adding an empty net.
Sergei Bobrovsky had 18 saves; Anton Lundell had two primary assists.

In my 65 years he’s the best coach I’ve seen in the 3 sports that major sports I follow. And by far my favorite. I want the Cup for him more than anyone.

This is the third thing I've seen from Paul Maurice that, in my opinion, makes Florida an easier team to cheer for. Actually acknowledging the other team's star players. Not only did he put them over, he actually said that Canadian sports media might be jaded to how good they are. Class. Apologizing to the media. He acknowledged that they're under their networks thumb to find stories and content. He admitted that he was a bit of a grump in the past and wants to take the time, to make their job easier. Respectful. And here, today. After joking about catering, cards, and their "tough time", he stops and brings to light the people in Florida who are actually struggling because of this weather. Humble. You don't usually get an international spotlight and share that with anyone else, but he did, and that's exactly the kind of person who should be representing hockey and sport in general. It's JUST a game. A game that costs billionaires billions to play, sure. But a sport that is viewed by fans and people who need that escape.

He's clearly matured, and become the kind of person that effuses humor into trying situations, who grounds a sport played by young millionaires, and brings every ounce of passion with him, whether it was Montreal and the seat of Canadian hockey or the beaches of Florida and the literal hope for a wanting generation.

As a Blues fan I want you guys to hoist the Cup....but your parade will never be like the Blues in 2019 with a drunk Brett Hull trying to sing Gloria!! 😂😂😂😂😂 Maybe you can have the slogan We went Panthers .😂😂😂 Watch the Blues parade video. I have a feeling Barkov be drunk on smelling salts and alcohol at the parade if the Cats win it.

I used to dislike this guy. I've come to realize he is a methodical, intelligent coach who took a cheap shot, beer league team and turned them into the next Stanley Cup Champions. Well done sir.
