my first mccartney record, and still my favourite,--on the whole record is not one weak song. from "i´m carrying" over "famous groupies" to "morse moose" - just great, and the title track is a highlight

Such a heartbreakingly sad song, brilliantly crafted. Why does 'Wings' have this air of heart-wrenching tragedy? I think it is because, despite the fact that Paul et. al. did the very very best they could, and in fact many of their works were diamonds that helped to bring some light to what was a rather dark era, despite all that, nothing could compensate for the loss of the Beatles, and nothing could fully illuminate the mid-to-late 1970s.That is why 'London Town', and especially 'With a Little Luck' bring tears to my eyes: such a valiant, doomed effort.

Classic Paul. If you listen carefully you can hear the first notes of "Because" in the vocal fade out. Haunting.

An underappreciated album. It always brings back good memories. I think that the "actor" looks like Victor Spinetti (the actor who appeared with the Beatles in "A Hard Days Night," and "Help!"

@ammorreztristar You thinks correctly, that is Victor Spinetti. All these decades and I never knew that was Mr. Spinetti until I got a McCartney video collection that included McCartney's commentary for each video. McCartney states that is Mr. Spinetti during the commetary for this song.

@wellisaythat I agree that this is one of Paul's best songs, but it's unlike any of the others. To me, it has a kind of mystical quality -- calm, subtle and understated, with curious lyrics. And I love the blend of the two verses at 3:53.

Great song by Paul McCartney & Denny Laine: after all the silver rainy day melancholy melody they manage to bust out a double-dobro twin harmony slide guitar break at the last minute in the breadth of a casual "3 minute pop song"! Ridiculously, deliciously good music, much better lyrics than we judged them to be at the time, patented Paul&Linda+Denny=WiNGS Overdubs Harmony Magic vocals, and I do remember even then that guitar break astonished from first album play staring at the London Bridge is falling 'round record label spinning. Here it's just hilarious comic relief after a fanciful non-performance promo video. And, um, of course they're ALL stoned, as are you (one way or another, so it might as well be social and stay friendly, so long as it suits the sound, as it most certainly does here, don'tcha think) do not deny as high am (hee!) and WE are altogether on a purple afternoon and in such 70's cases, oh wait, in ALL cases when LiSTENiNG to music (not sure about watching vids, if it distracts you from the wonder of it all baby) it may well sometimes be The way to be.... How much is too much - the WiNGS records sound better & better (especially his current McCartney Archives series) - and the grassy haze and pillow pop that bounces on along with raspy rubies and rhyming rock from PAUL McCARTNEY & WiNGS from 1971-1981 has a sound and style all its own even among HiS (Paul's) overall canon (and that OTHER canon he half wrote), a sassy love song smoke out that feels freer and packs more pop power than anything he's done since (or prior!?!), so whatever helps shape that bonded blend, bring it on. and again, it doesn't refuse to enhance your own perception of a long-playing record album, especially if you shut everything else down, stay put or even putter around but surrender to the sound. couldn't hoit. as for Sir he & the they, create is was all they all did and all (surviving members) all do, and actually work so much, not to mention perform(ed) now (& then) like crazy for the whole decade. (And nought's wrong with that....)
