Paul McDermott is the bee’s knees ..... at the risk of showing my age I’ll admit to loving the Doug Anthony All Stars when they performed regularly on the ABC’s ‘The Big Gig’ with Wendy Harmer. Back in the old days when you gathered around the tele - a prized piece of furniture in the lounge room - to watch a program at a set time with your friends and family 😂
Paul is such a talent, I love his voice...so many great shows that Paul was involved with over the years...we really need them and him now...probably more than ever...
Hell, I miss these shows, this talent, this fun. It's all doom and gloom with politics and viruses now. Everyone who was a part of this song was fantastic. Everyone had talent, and Paul was man enough and talented enough to let everyone have their time to shine. He sings just as well now. Thank you for reminding me that Australia has Talent - pun intended. 😂
I know the house band was called The Bearded Ladies, but I have a feeling that name was to fit in with the 'sideshow' theme, and not the real name of a band. I can hear Paul introduce them, I think as Evelyn and Tuara? You might be able to find their names in the credits, or on a list of credits for the show, but I couldn't find any such list in a quick Google search. They are brilliant though!
