Al Green is sent from God spreading always the message of love. No matter how blue I am AL Green always uplifts my soul and sends my heart soaring with love. Thank you Rev. Green for everything you do.
I grew up with All Green music .He is just awesome and sexy. Too me Hus music always puts me in a good mode no matter how down I felt. Love you and the rest of your guest on this stage.
😍 God Bless the Reverend Albert Leornes Greene! In addition to his remarkable musical talents... we can see his effusive love and respect for the other artists, the audience, indeed all humankind! We need more artists, academics, educators, scientists, politicians, business executives, parents and neighbors to light the way of goodness and Godliness... especially for our next generations, who look to us to light the way forward.
This song woke my mind up this morning. The music and Lucille will keep u ready to dance........No sadness . You will forget you can't dance and your body keeps telling you that you can.
I went to America for a holiday in 2018. I’m from Australia and saw Al Green singing the gospel in his church in Memphis and was one of the highlights of my life and I’ll never forget it.
This album would wake me and my sister up every Saturday morning to clean up😂😂😂. My Grandma would blast this and Love and Happiness by Al Green. It was our wake up call at 7am.😂😂😂. I love Al Green. Sorta taught me discipline. 40 Plus Years later- Still listening.
I should be ashamed that I live in Memphis and have never gone to his church. But I have thought about it quite a few times. If I don't do it, I will regret it when the reverend leaves us for paradise.
There are those who sing and there are those who can move your soul. God bless all those who have contributed wonderful music, (musicians), singers, songwriters, choirs and the devoted people who have shown love, sorrow, and happiness to me as a songstress and thanks to all I have sung with, those whose harmonies and artistry that will never be forgotten!! Bless you all even if the world doesn't know you as a star in the music industry, God knows you!! One day we will all perform in the choirs, praising the Lord. (Yaweh), Jesus and the Holy Ghost (our comforter) Amen
About 20 years I rented a car for a last minute all nighter road trip for an emergency business meeting in Paris. The radio was broken and there was one CD, Al Green's Greatest Hits. I fell in love with his music, best road trip music ever. I truly hope that he one day returns to the stage, it would be an honour to see him perform live.
Saw Al in concert at the University of Alabama in the 70’s. It was much different than ANY concert today…I was one of about 5 honkies (lol) in Memorial Coliseum, the rest my strong black brothers and mainly sisters (Al was hot back then). We had a blast, on the 4th row, with panties and red roses thrown to the stage. What a memory!!! Glad I can remember it!
Al has this skill of wringing all the soul from a song, like wrenching tight on a face cloth drenched in water. When Al is done, that face cloth is dry.
I've loved this man/musician since I first heard him in junior high school....a phenomenal entertaining and the last I heard many years ago, he started into Christian ministry. I knew there was something special in his songs even from long ago, a spiritual nuance to many of them. Good for you, Mr. Green.....I imagine you are enjoying and reaping the benefits of your decision....I love your music and may God bless you!
This Was Beautiful...Take Me To The River!!! I Want To Get Re-Baptised And Have This Song Playing...Yeah Baby!!! Love Me Some Al Green!!! My 1st Love...Every Since I Was 15 Years Old. -Nothing Has Changed!!! ☺💚💜👍✌✊👊
Iconic Collaboration.....Purely Soulful. I have seen BB in person a few times over the years and Al just once. He never seems to age like the rest of us..
I absolutely love performing this song live, a little different every time we do and it always puts'em on the floor...it just never gets old. What a great performance by some of the best! Gives me chills...

Happy 76th Birthday today April 13, 2022 to the great Al Green, born April 13, 1946. Al Green is one of the most enduring soul singers of the rock era, and is considered by many the most important male singer since Sam Cooke. He has also been referred to as "The Last of the Great Soul Singers." His early 70s work on Hi Records sounds as good today as it did then, and his legend has continued to grow over the past quarter century even as he generally turned his back on popular music. Green is the winner of 11 Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. He has also received the BMI Icon award and is a Kennedy Center Honors recipient. He was included in the list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, ranking at No. 65, as well as its list of the 100 Greatest Singers, at No. 14.
Al Green is the essence of true, bonafide SOUL MUSIC -- based on watching shows like American Idol, The Voice and others -- it appears America is no longer producing soul music, or soul artists. Wow, it's a pleasure witnessing the virtuousity and rich natural soulful vocalese of Mr. Green. So glad he's still alive and well. Wish he'd also do a national tour ala Stevie Wonder, from 2015. AGAIN, THANKS STEVIE, for providing our nation with your talents == one more GIN.
You can take the man out of church but you can't the church out of the man. Rev. Al Green is moving with the exact same motions most black people move with in church.
I met him and his sister at a gospel concert I was 13 years old because my aunt and rev. Al were dear friends my 13 year old cousin and I got to go back stage... towards the end of the concert he beckons for my cousin and I to come on stage to help pass out roses to the audience... I had only heard his secular music never knew about his gospel roots boy that concert was AMAZING 😎👍🏽
This is an awesome song love it! You can't get any better than having all these awesome singers all together singing a great inspirational song. It can't any better than this Al Green, awesome Lenny Kravitz, and the great BB King, wow! Totally awesome all the way around. I really enjoy this great performance from these great singers... 👌 in my book! Love it!
Timeless music been listening to his music since I was a teen ,now am old but still rocks and reminds me of yester years, Algreen is one of the Legends his music never dies
Al had so much energy.....he definitely is the baddest on that show...jumping up and down....and I presume he's not a puppy got some years on him....what a man
This is my first time seeing this all I can say is simply amazing. I must say the crowd is useless. Like how are you not feeling that all through your bones.
From the time I was in Elementary School the "Rev" (affectionately) has been a ROCK in the R&B World. I had the pleasure of seeing him live finally in the early 90's on the Apple Campus in Cupertino, CA. He has stood the Test,of Time. His voice is still smooth and deeply Soulful. His choice of "Accompnyment" (borrowed from the movie "Brother, Where Art Thou?) speaks volumes of how much he is regarded by his peers. He has always eminated a certain Grace and Presence with a Smile that Radiates Warmth. Just a Good Brother.
BB King stopped the music too quick But it’s because Al said “1 more time” Lenny was getting into it for the last round, then abruptly….!!! Still enjoying the whole song on my way to work every time !!!
