Been a fan since I was 13 when I saw him speaking on "say it loud"...the hbo doc about black comedy in america...then his 90s comedy albums... The older I got the more I appreciated his comedy and a lot of the nuances... His comedy is like a time bomb sometimes. Where you don't really understand how deep he is until later. That is why he endures. That is why he will always endure. The great ones who are around now that are influenced by him have that quality. The imitators and mediocre ones just try to go for the shock. His shock is the way he talks about the truth in an unfiltered way that's barely exaggerated and a lot of the times not exaggerated at all. Just his takes on what we all see is genius if we get it already. And if we don't get it already we end up learning later on what he was talking about
