Update: Saddened to hear of the passing of the Comedy Legend Mr. Paul Mooney. I had only just recently unearthed these few short sets by request a couple months before the Legend's passing. I had no idea we'd lose Mr. Mooney so soon afterward. May he Rest In Paradise 🙏

Mr. Mooney really used to take care of himself... Here he looks so healthy, vibrant, and youthful - even though he was pushin 50 years old back in 1989 when this happened. What he said about the Mickey Mouse Club is true. If you were a Black kid watching the Mickey Mouse Club you couldn't help but to feel that exclusion. That's what made Mooney great. He called out the bias BS in our society and was merciless on it. Unfiltered. Blacks connected to that. By show business standards , he was brave to say the things that many performers were afraid to say because of the fear of , what they call now , "cancel culture" . You can't help but respect and admire that.
