It is only compared to the competition at the time, people didn’t know how to play chess at all. Nowadays you would be punished for moving your night twice at the beginning by top 1000 player.
@artkirakosyan2633 k, but the question is - how did get Morphy get so good considering the competition? And all you can do is compare to contemporaries, and nobody has had the level of dominance Morphy had over his peers. If he were alive today, he'd do just fine against masters.
Many brave pieces died for that bishop to get where it is. Don’t dishonor their memory by disregarding all their brave & selfless sacrifices. War is hell.
Sir this awesome trick but sir you take her pawn with your pawn then instead taking your pawn he can move horse to a8 and then easily can take your bishop please tell at that time what to do
Espectacular mate, el hecho de que lo hiciera con alfil es solo artistico, pudo ser con dama, pero una entre tantas celadas de apertura que quien no las conoce las paga de manera maravillosa.
Amazing relentless attack. It’s very hard to say who is the GOAT especially in Chess. Each generation learns from the previous generations and now computers n Ai gives a new thrust into learning. If one has to make a call then it would be between Fisher and Morphy. Fisher learned n developed Morphy’s strategies to a new level, i feel. It’s like prodigy eventually surpassing the teacher. Both are unique n superb in their own ways. A head to head would be the only way to determine the ultimate GOAT but naturally impossible. AMD there will be greater ones to come perhaps. Morphy laid the foundations, Fisher improved on it and perhaps Larsen perfected it…. Just my from a 51 year old beginner. I had to look at how the chess board was set up cause I still can’t remember…😂😂😂😂 however this old goat, not GOAT, is pretty good for a beginner n learning a shit load.
not in terms of absolute playing strength (understandably, given the era in which he lived), but in terms of dominance over his contemporaries, there's a very strong case for Morphy for sure.
