The background is beautiful. I have a cheap set of watercolors I purchased on Amazon for $8. Your video inspired me to get them out and swatch them. I have not played with them much, but now I want to try. Thank you for sharing.

Ooh maybe, it’s worth a try. I don’t mind using my finger though. Never had a paper tear this way… yet lol famous last words 😂😅

So if your page is crinkly after using wet media, put a piece of paper on top and another one underneath to protect your page. Then use your iron on a low setting to flatten it back out 😊

Thanks for sharing your talent! Can you explain why you chose those tools to apply the paint rather than a brush? Also, how did you end up with a big pot of paint from the little tins?

Hey lovely, I just used the brush that came with the set to apply the paint 😁I also used the paint straight from the pans in the set, so I’m not sure what big pot of paint you saw. Or do you mean the masking fluid to protect the image before I painted?

The end of the brush reminds me of a spatula for taking a little bit of paint out of the jelly gouache pots for example 🤔

Did you use gesso in the background or was it kind of a yellow colour you applied sometimes? I love this petrol colour!❤

It was just water 😁 The paper is cream that might have made it look yellow. But I just used wet on wet technique, this paper hold water so well I never use anything to prep the paper in Hanna’s books 😁

@@MyColourfulCountryLife Ah, thank you for explaining 😅. Then it definitely was your paper shining through. I also have some of her books. Good to know they hold water so well, cause I really like watercolour backgrounds because you can do them fast 😂. Just don't like doing backgrounds in general so this is a good solution I think😊. @justbe1977 yeah the water dries up pretty quick without any paper prep so I do it in small sections so the water stays wet. You can do wet in dry as well, I just like the way the paint spreads when the paper is wet first 😁

@MyColourfulCountryLife May I ask whether you know if you can use masking tape on sections you already coloured? For example when you want to do the backgroundd after you've coloured the whole page instead of before like you did. I would like to try a background like this, but have already finished colouring the page.
