Nothing touches Paul's childhood stories. They are legendary in their hilarious horrificness. So much so, that on LIVE shows of his ten plus year HDTGM podcast, that as soon as he even hints at bringing up a childhood memory, the audience immediately Bristles with eager anticipation. And without fail, no matter where you think the story is going or how bad it will go, the actual story is always ten times worse. Love Paul's childhood stories.

Been there since his 1st episode in 1993. My parents had just gotten a divorce and this was my 1st weekend hanging out with my father, so we watched this "new guy" to see how he'd do. It was all over after that long intro. We loved it, and never missed a show (if one of us couldn't make it, the other would record it). Love watching Conan.

I visited LA for the first time in 2012 and went to see Paranorman with my cousin's boyfriend. I forget the theater name. At the concessions, I saw two guys that looked vaguely familiar, I thought they were from my neighbourhood back home, whatever. I head to the theater, take my seat. It then clicks that it was Paul Scheer and Nick Krohl. The League was on at the time, so I guess this was pretty cool encounter. Comedian sighting at the movie theater. Soon after, both of them appear in the aisle, and sit right beside me. I think the theater was practically empty otherwise. I remember thinking, "Alright, now the gauge of what was or wasn't funny is sitting right beside me". They laughed at all the stuff that was subtle and nuanced, but none of what wasn't. In a way, it was confusing and knowing that they were there took the joy away from the movie. Thanks Nick and Paul.
