I remember seeing the final performance of The Phantom of the Opera featuring Paul Stanley at the Phantages Theater in Toronto on Halloween night 1999. And I still have the program!
I applaud him for not only getting out of his comfort zone but also doing it at such a high level and with such an incredibly challenging role! Not easy at ALL and if he sucked, he wouldn’t have lasted beyond those first 8 shows.
I grew up with KISS, being a Army Member since 1978 and Paul will always be a wonderful memory of it. And AA I got older he just got hotter!! But he WAS THE PERFECT guy for this job and we all know it. So whoever had the idea of him doing "The Phantom" great job!! And I didn't see it but im sure Paul knocked it out of the park!
Most metal vocalists lose their voices at some point with few exceptions. They don’t sing as much as they shout. Paul, no exception, has lost most of his vocal ranch over the years. Paul on Broadway in 1988 would be interesting as his range was still powerful however a trained vocalist from an operatic or jazz background has superior skills in comparison to rock, pop, hip hop or “metal” genres.
@@jody8526937 the thing is. Paul Stanley is super famous so his presence automatically increases sales of tickets. He was in because he helps selling the show.
I just learned if this may be a day. Or 2 ago that Paul played the role of Phantom of the Opera. Now I wonder in Boise Idaho quite a few years ago if he yes, one of the actors that played Phantom of the Opera that I just fell in love with. Who knows but it does look like him
Paul once said in another interview that Gene Simmons saw him in POTO and was surprised. After the show, Gene went backstage and said, "Where'd you learn to sing like that?" Because after getting cast, Paul had to take a few lessons to alter his style of singing to match the character
Paul is so high class. He's different than most rock stars i think. Operas, caviar, ballrooms.he likes things that are classified as sissy for a rock star.even though they're not sissy. He's just a great showman and vocalist and human.
Paul is an interesting character... he really dropped the ball with the Kiss tour, not having the original members... the real reason that didn't happen, was that the "new kiss" used substantial backing tracks, brought about from Paul's inability to hit the notes now. The old guys wouldn't be able to follow a click. That would be a non-starter. If Peter showed up a little drunk, he wouldn't be able to play with a click... even sober it would be unlikely. And they spent so much money on this automated show... they wouldn't/couldn't throw that money away and bring back the guys that called them out. Just too insecure...
