The 1920's term "Flaming Youth" gets a new meaning as this Jazz era Dance band plays "Is There a Place Up There For Me?" Paul Tremaine and his Orchestra, famous for his Columbia Vivatonal record of "Four Four Rythm", drew crowds to the popular New York night spot, Yoeng's Chinese Restaurant where he performed in 1929 and 1930. In this "Sing You Sinners" revival type tune,Tremaine asks the Lord to save his guilty Jazz rebel soul from Satans fire. From a rare radio transcription from around the time of the stock market crash.
My thanks to my good friend stjn00 for use of his beautiful 2 strip technicolor "Hades Ballet", which was filmed at about the same time!
