Honestly I don't think Stefan and Caroline's relationship is forced. It came slowly. Stefan was heartbroken and needed to move on. Why always connect him to Elena who hurt him? Life goes on. He hung out with Caroline, his best friend with whom he shared a lot of things, it's normal that they fell in love! Even if Paul doesn't agree with it, that doesn't change the fact that it was a real love story. Sorry for my English, I speak French. Team Steroline.

But don't take it so seriously tbh. It's still my favorite relationship from the show despite any of the actors' personal opinions about it. Don't stress yourself over it. He's flipped flopped back & forth for years so don't take it so seriously, they were just fictional characters on a tv show & the actors are the actors in real life. Just friendly advice.
