It is simultaneously inconceivable that this man with such skill and style never won nationals, never came close to medaling at Worlds, and with that track record, won silver at the Olympics where many felt he'd deserved gold. He was such a unique and phenomenal skater and his Albertville performance is one of the most impactful Olympic moments I ever watched.
He was still fortunate the level of skating at the 92 Olympics was far below the 91 worlds. At the 91 worlds he would have likely placed 6th with the exact same performances.
I just love this guy! Other than Dick Button or Brian Boitano, the finest men's US skater. When I was taking the State Bar, I'd watch this & his 1992 Olympic performances to inspire me. It worked! Lovely human being.
What a question to ask him. He handled that question with class. Very poor taste on her part. Surprised she got away with it. Good for you Paul pure class. We all ❤️ love you and miss you.
Does anyone else want to punch Julie Moran? She didn't even say "Congratulations" or anything acknowledging a decent performance, only question was about how the last 4 years of his career might have been a waste of time. Wow. Uncool.
Sooooo distasteful. I wonder how long she lasted on her job. Think before you speak on national TV. His fans were not happy. He's a pure joy every time he's on the ice.
Julie Moran / Moron. Paul reminds me so much of John Curry. Clean lines, edges, jumps… and his Spins. 😳 loved that he put her in her place after her stupid question. Oh, and go to LAW SCHOOL at Harvard too…
what a freaking B...that reporter seriously was lucky she wasn't punched in the face....seriously, glad to see he is/was a class act even then despite the performance
Paul is a class act. He did awesome at the olympics and while some felt he deserved gold at albertville he was kind of lucky just to go because he could have been marked down further at us nats - remember he had errors on his three biggest tricks - two triple axels and the lutz. Dick Button is an icon but sometimes lol his comments and tone of voice are annoying. Paul was and is more than a skater - he is a great lawyer, family man and leader. Oh and Dicky really needs to stop the US ra ra - the only way the tech marks would be 6.0 is US judges remember quads were coming out then too.
My all-time favorite skater. But not a lawyer; Paul deferred law school for his 6-year professional skating career, and then attended Harvard Business School, not law school.
I love this program, especially the music. Does anyone know what individual tracks the last two minutes are? I know it's from Henry V, but I'm having trouble finding the individual songs. Thanks in advance.
Well dayummm Julie Moran! That was quite a leading question now wasn't it?! Yikes!!! Acting like he was a human zamboni or something. He stepped out of his 3a's and a 3lz but everything else was great and no one can give drama and line like he can/could.
I hated those days when the skaters would get interviewed after they have skated. Paul looked disappointed and knew he did not do good on his technical component. She asked him a senseless question about all his skating was a waste of time. Really???? Proved her wrong in Albertville.
Yes very rude. You dont put on person on the spot like that and expect people not to notice that. Paul like a pro handled that question so perfectly. Wonder where she got her training. Many people watched this interview and were shocked at the question. Hopefully she learned alot regarding that bad interview. Huge fan of Paul.
