I had the Spellbound tape, yes I said “tape”. I was 16 years old and use to sneak out of my house at night. This song reminds me of that era. Good times. Thanks Paula ♥️
i never understood why this song never got the same radio play all of her teeny bopper hits got back in the late 80s. this song is truly her best, a real masterpiece.
The single went to #6 on the Billboard Pop charts. It also, I thought, garnered her a Grammy nomination for Best Pop vocal...I could be wrong, though. I agree, it doesn't get played in the 21st Century the way her other dance-oriented singles did...and this is her masterpiece, in my mind since 1991.
@@swankhood she had 6 number ones. 3 consecutive then a number 3 with the song Its just the way that you love me. Then had another 3 consecutive number ones..
The lyrics are STILL HEART WRENCHING. The choreography is breath taking. The piano solo MOVES me still. I continue to FEEL this selection. Reminds me of a couple of my ex(es)... *Tear trickles down my cheek...still*
One of the most beautifullest songs i've ever heard from one of the most beautifullest ladies in the world. The one and only...Ma Lady Paula Abdul, love you baby.💕🌹😘😍
My wife and I played this song for our wedding. Twenty six years later I was unable to play it at her funeral. She survived cancer twice and MS but a disease created in a Chinese bio warfare lab was too much. RIP Lisa.
Thomas, though we do not know one another... this song tugs at the heart. Songs like this they never played enough on the radio. On a second note: very sorry to hear of the loss of your wife, especially the "created jab" that was conceived. Of late, many are experiencing its venom presently. Keep your eye on Jesus, not the world, though sometimes hard. Sorry again for your loss. "love knows not of its own depth until the hour of separation" = kind regards!
So sorry all of that was BS every family that lost a member for that bs should get relegations.Goverment paid hospitals for every death they said was a COVID death and they racked up in my state
My heart goes out to you Thomas. I believe a man who has this type of sentimentalism for his wife as you have for your dearest will enjoy eternal life with her.
Song had a lot of 'painful...deep meaning for me, in '91 when this was out. A Girl. Mary. Never forget her..... gone into 'time' now.... where ever you are Mary....despite all the pain and longing and rejection....i still 'feel something'...when this plays.
ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!! Paula Abdul is a phenomenally talented dancer and her voice is gold. I like a lot of her songs, and she is a Great Talent. I truly believe her music will last rhrough the Ages. Todays Generation really should try out the 1970s , 1980s, 1990s music. The best of talents, and it would be great to see her music played on more local radio instead of just Satellite Radio. MTV was so great, sure do miss it. Thank goodness for DVDs and CDs with Vinyl Albums..Paula Abdul is Lightning in a Bottle. ⚡😏
one of my favorite songs of all time. monumentally underated. on a broad note, Paula Abdul's had legit skills and was by no means a "pop tart" or any of other goofy te that's easy to spout from the immortal Monday morning quarterbacker's of pop criticism. she wasn't Madonna, or Janet, but she deserved to be in their company for the length of her first two albums. in that 3-5 year era, this broad was on fire. To think that her less than Celine Dion (yet one in a million) vocal range ultimately shaped the image of her legacy. Now Paula Abdul's voice circa 1992ish would be considered a better technical singer than 75% of current singers. congrats if you made it through my little rant down memory lane 😂
What? She's no Madonna?? They are almost the same, similar voice and sound! They are almost the same, maybe at least vocally! She's really no Celine Dion nor Whitney Houston 😂
I think some songs never lose their appeal. You can tell by the fact that you like to listen to these songs again and again. Even if the song is almost 30 years old.
1992. Broke up with my one love , I'm sweeping up the parking lot at a grocery store got some crappy little part-time job at midnight In the distance I hear a parked car playing this painfully beautiful pillowy, beckening song and decide to call her back we've been married ever since.
Heard this while grocery shopping, had forgotten about this incredible masterpiece / video. Had to go to my car pull up this video and burst into sobbing tears. Brought back so many many memories. Bless you Paula 💖
For me, this is the best song from Paula Abdul, I get goosebumps when I listen to this song, and the song makes you think. Well done Paula and I'm glad to have your music on CD. Regards.
Paula Abdul is soo underrated for her vocals but she in fact is, super versatile. And what a brilliant choreographer. She's unmatched! I love her and can't wait to see her in concert this fall❤❤❤
I love Paula Abdul so much. She is one of the most beautiful souls I've ever met. This song is also one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. You've got to have heart to do a song like this and she's got a beautiful heart. I can't imagine anyone else's voice on this song.
Honestly i really miss Paula Abdul. Her voice is very unique when the dj plays her songs on the radio u can guess that is Paula Abdul. I really hope that sooner or later she will make a new album. Singers like her should never be forgotten.
I remember when I was in the 8th grade back then calling the radio station Z100 in NYC to request this song. The operator said they’d play it for me because it’s such a great song! And they did play it a few minutes after my call!
This will always be a favorite of mine. My childhood comes rushing back whenever I hear this beautiful song. The arrangement is beautiful, and I even bought the instrumental version. Love Paula!
