The lip syncing comments are so annoying. Paula was always more known for her catchy songs, innovative music videos, and stage performances rather than her voice. She's one heck of a dancer and choreographer and that's always been her strong suit. She herself acknowledges that. Besides, so many pop stars (Britney, Madonna, Janet, etc) lip sync if their performances are choreography-heavy and their voices aren't particularly strong. Every time Paula went on stage for years, she KILLED it, lip sync or no lip sync. Respect the queen, damn.

WOW...I'd never seen this before. Its amazing she could still dance and perform like that, after all her injuries and surgeries. I was truly surprised she even did the stage dive, just like her classic AMA performance of "The Way You That You Love Me".
Idk if this is a rumor or not but I heard she put all of this together in under a week. Like 3 days or something. Which just adds to her astonishing work ethic and artistry.
I respect and admire Paula Abdul for her hard work and commitment. C'mon guys, this is her first performance ever since her plane and car crash. Lip-sync? well who cares. She a known dancer and Choreographer who then was a singer making hits and selling 53 million records. She paved the way and is now successful .. Don't care if she was lip syncing .. Even Paula herself said that shes not a good perfect singer but she has faith in what she does.
This needs a ton more upvotes, though I don't know if she could handle a full tour to promote an album. She's been through a ton of surgeries and multiple crashes, plus suffering from a chronic pain disease.
She can still release music without touring. Some artists prefer that. She can make or two live performances doing ballads instead of dance music. Leave that to the music videos and dancers. Several things she could potentially do. But it's understandable if she can't.

Calling someone out for lip-syncing is overrated. With dance choreography like that, you can't sing or you'll be out of breath. It's about the experience, not the actual singing. Then again, it is a singing competition.
If you can't do both good at the same time then just stick to one instead of pretending that you actually sing. I'd rather hear someone short of breath who's actually singing because I would know that it's genuine artist, human performance not a gimmick

I realize that she is not singing live, but I really like her vocals here. She may not have a range like Mariah, but her voice is undeniably distinct and soulful. And it has always had a sweetness to it.

@@antcar1375 Well she is not credited for the control short film. I have done all my research. My channel is dedicated to Janet. Janet is dancing on stage pretty much by herself and doing some signature moves by the time as well for the “control video” she really didn’t need Paula for that one. Janet has also stated Paula didn’t do the control video . So it’s not a debate, I’m just stating the facts. At that point Janet was ready to change her style up and started working with Barry Lather. Paula was making references to the control videos but she only worked on THREE. No big deal, kudos to Paula for her good work.
This song was originally recorded by Kylie Minogue for her “Body Language” album in 2003. Kylie’s version leaked sometime in 2004 and is far superior to this version.

Paula is just like Britney, people complain about them not singing live but they're not singers, they're performers. Just as Christina aguilera cannot dance like them, they can't sing like her. That's ok, to each their own! Don't go to a Britney concert if you don't wanna hear lip syncing and auto tune.
TheRealMVP Paula Abdul is a professional dance choreographer. She’s not an appealing vocalist like Christina Aguilera but she still sings and performs way better than Britney Spears who doesn’t write ANY of her own songs nor create her own dance routines like Paula has for decades
In my honest opinion.. I think all the bad singers thought they had a shot because she was on the show.. They all expected to be made into stars without vocal talent. Here, she is not even singing live and if she was there is HEAVY auto tune. Bad look for a singing contest show. I think she knew it too.

She’s an amazing dancer so she’s really showing that off here which is amazing with all of her debilitating pain from injuries... I mean really. Get a clue.
I love Paula’s 3 albums. This awful autotune is just dreadful. I like her actual voice. Even if she would have released an other album recently, it would be autotuned to death and would ruin it.
Have you seen all of her live performances? You don't have to answer that, because I already know the answer is no. Why would anyone continue to pay to see someone who only lip syncs? You obviously don't know what you're talking about. I have seen her live myself and she definitely did not lip sync the day I was there. Not to one single song.

My DNA still says I'm the real one that went missing from Atkins, Virginia along time ago. I got attacked because I'm not a parasite. I resurrected at Aerohead apartments in Wytheville, Virginia in what we called the Northwinds sections even then (43C) is the correct apartment number. Some of my old stuff may still be there because I didn't even get to take anything out of the apartment when I ended up going to Rural Retreat, Virginia. I flushed the toilet and the next thing I knew I was going to Rural Retreat, Virginia... Because I'm too clean. I'm not a parasite. I clean! This is what real humans do. Pour hot water with hand sanitizer or some other disinfectant down the toilets to make sure the septic systems are running smoothly like they are supposed too. There may still be ice in the septic system lines some where in the buildings and this will keep the lines from bursting. I still am the one that actually gave birth to human children on January 14th, 2020 and November 4th, 2017 here in Bluffton, Indiana. @NewRiverValleyRegionalJail
