Paula Poundstone's Cats, Cops, and Stuff... (Part 1) I don't think they even sold this on VHS. My copy is a reviewer/press copy I got off eBay. I first saw this when I was little and it still makes me laugh. :) (c) 1990 HBO
I was Paula poundstone driver when she performed in Palm desert California. Ms. Poundstone was extremely nice and down to earth, it was an honor and pleasure.
My entire life, any time I've ever been pulled over I've thought to myself, "What if you just touch his face?" 😂😂😂 Thank you SO much for uploading this, I watched it when I was little and it's been my favorite special of all time ever since.
I was scrolling through "Death caught on camera" playlists when I discovered Paula Poundstone's playlist oddly right in the middle. I stopped to look at it and enjoyed her very much.
@FilmsFor SMARTpeople Ah you ventured over to the Weird Side of RU-vid, I see They have full autopsy videos on here - not kidding, the one I watched was filmed in a less developed country and the man performing the procedure was using what honestly appeared to be a steak knife on the body It was interesting but not something I would've suffered without seeing
Yes, love Paula, love her voice, and love her RU-vid page, too. Can't get enough of her, and her improv with the audience is superb. Thank you for posting!
HBO never released it. To this day it is still the funniest thing I've ever seen and can be applied to so many things in life. Thank you for uploading!
I love Paula Poundstone's comedy act - she has been a favourite of mine since I saw her the first time - have no idea when that was... the pop tart bit was not the first time but I love that bit - don't know - she cracks me up no matter how many times I watch this - thank yous to whoever put this up - thank you so much.
one of the best comedy routine ever crafted, ive seen this special too many times already... i don't even have to watch it, i remember everything! Well.... one more time wouldn't kill me! ^_^
Probably the best female contemporary comic ever, right next to Joan Rivers (RIP) If Joan had a crown to pass down to a new comedy queen, Paula would be crowned. just saw her in Spokane Washington 3 days ago. Incredible show!
THANK YOU for uploading this - my favorite ever Paula Poundstone performance. I think I've watched it at least 10 times, and I still crack up every time. :-D
I think she's just great! I hear her somewhat regularly on NPR radio and she has an extremely quick, sharp and fertile mind. Her constant retorts and comments on NPR are just funny as hell. Some are a bit edgy but they're never really distasteful and she's hands down hilarious. I consider her a real comedic master.
LOL 😂! Truly very funny .... one of a kind ..... Paula is a true comedienne who is original and so very creative. Takes everyday experiences and makes them 😂 hilarious..Love how she interacts with her audience. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😂😂❤️
The absolute bar none best Poundstone performance...The cop stickin his big ol cop head in the window....Ma'am do you know how fast you were...TOUCH! *grin*
i'd forgot how funny she was/is. in hindsight you can tell she's had a couple, personally idc, just noticed it, and am impressed how well she does her routine. she wouldn't be the first, or the last, it would seem hard to avoid working in clubs.
Just to clarify, she had been an active foster parent. At the time of the DUI she had 2 foster kids in addition to the 3 foster kids she had already adopted. The 2 kids were taken out of her foster care and she was not allowed to adopt them and is not allowed to adopt other children. Her 3 adopted children were in foster care for a year (I believe) with daily visitation and then returned to Paula full time. ref: her book There's Nothing in This Book That I Meant to Say
Hey, thank you SO much for uploading this, it's terrific! Do you by any chance have any of her other specials, any footage or audio of stand up she's done?
I went to school with some of her children, I remember her advertising her shows at my elementary school in the 90's. Crazy, I didn't know how crazy those years were, I only remember her adopted step-daughter with the crutches on her arms and the paper ads on the school walls about her shows, fuck, crazy memories.
This is the June 27 felony complaint filed against Paula Poundstone by the Los Angeles District Attorney. Prosecutors charged the 41-year-old comedian with three counts of performing a lewd act upon the body of a girl under the age of 14. She was also hit with one count of child abuse (which allegedly involved two boys and two girls). Poundstone was released from the Santa Monica jail after posting $200,000 bail.
Add 20 years or more to anyones age, no one looks great, unless they have had plastic surgery. Paula has been through majpr trauma due to her legal problems. All she had was a DUI, not child abuse, NO sexual abuse. The legal system and the media dragged her through the mud, publically humiliated her and the unfounded charges will remain a stigma for the rest of her life. She lost custody of 2 of her children. I am just glad to see her performing, she looks pretty good considering
@ihavegarbageopinions = proof that scandal sells. The child molestation charge was never proven. Poundstone plead no contest to child endangerment because she had been dui with the kids in the car. She did rehab immediately. The child who made the accusation was a hard to place foster child with whom Paula had entered therapy in order to help the child deal with issues and to improve their rocky relationship. Even seasoned social workers doubted the accusation.
So strange hearing Brendon Small's mum in a different environment. Maybe I'm being nieve. Her voice just sounds like she's lived, which suited playing a mother. I'm talking about Home Movies if anyone is wondering. It's a good show if you haven't seen it.
One of the most underrated comedians of our time... She's well-rehearsed, but seems to thrive on spontaneity... Want to Heckle her? Go ahead!... She'll light your @ss up ! We love yu Paula... ( please don't ever make fun of Boosh or Nobama ...you'll end up like Joan Rivers)
