Like many of the comments, I wholeheartedly agree Paula was brilliant in those early programmes and has remained so ever since. My method of judging individuals is to ask one simple question. Would it be a pleasurable moment to spend time with a person over a long dinner? I’m delighted to announce that Paula would be right there at the top of my list. A wonderful lady whose charm hasn’t diminished.
I'm watching the complete series of Man About The House at the moment.. absolutely brilliant and Paula is proper gorgeous in it. She sounds exactly the same now and still has those smashing big eyes! :)
Her voice still sounds like it did when she did Man about the House. I used to watch these old British shows when I was a kid. Nice to see that she is still active.
Me too...as she asked me about erections she had caused as a young school kid watching Man About the House. Unfortunately time has caused her to become a bit stringy....there ought to be a crime against aging.
I must admit that Paula's aged better than Richard and Sally. Her eyes used to mesmerise me when I watched Man About The House, I think she was my first crush. I've got all the dvds and they're still great entertainment nowadays. No matter how many wonderful parts she plays in all her theatre and tv work, she'll always be Chrissie Plummer to me.
Love the final scene in the film version of Man About The House when she's playing chess with Richard O'Sullivan. He says "pawn" which sounds like "porn". Paula quickly picks up on that, gives him a funny look then looks towards the director. That was priceless and I'm glad they kept it in. I'm sure she'd remember that well.
I like the sound of the character she is playing, not that I will ever see it like. I love Paula Wilcox in Man About The House. It is a brilliant programme with brilliant characters. I am so jealous that she got to play a love interest to Richard O Sullivan and Richard Beckinsale. They were both gorgeous in their day.
i think she is much better looking now she has really has aged nicely, back in the 70's she was just the girl next door she had an approachable quality about her, however i preferred the blond one in Man About The House
The Man About the House show ended awfully. After all that build up of chemistry with Robin, she ended up marrying his brother. I still refuse to watch the last episodes because of it. Nonetheless, a great beauty of her day and even now.
I hate it when people say "grounded". It's such a cliche. Explain exactly what you mean when you say that she is a "lovley (sic) grounded lady". What evidence do you have to support that statement; that she's "grounded"?
she seems another person. totally different. In Man about the house she looked totally different and I don't mean the difference is due to age. She really changed. I think now she is more facinating.... what happened to her teeth??
Ageing sucks? Well it might.. but imagine a world where everyone is eighteen, or twenty-one.. ..perpetually. Sounds great? Well think about it again.. carefully.
