We need to do like Paulina; demand to be seen, and heard, and unapologetically be ourselves no matter what. It's more difficult for average and ugly women too. Beautiful women have a slightly easier time to attract men. But the average or below average women have little to no chance in the dating world.

I hope I don't sound offensive, because I have a lot of respect for Paulina and I think she is as breathtakingly beautiful now as she was when she was a supermodel. I just want to generate some thoughts here. Paulina talks about older men going for younger women and she is puzzled, but when Paulina met Ric, she was 18 and he was 21 years her senior. That pattern she now complains about, she was an active participant in it, but she didn't realize that years later, that pattern would work against her. This is something young women should be aware of when they marry older men. They should prepare themselves emotionally and financially for the time when their youth assets would be lost.
Hmmmm well I think some woman especially unattractive women go an entire lifetime feeling invisible, so if you have had 55 good years of being admired thats pretty good. If men cannot see passed the superficial and in most cases they can't they get what they deserve or can afford to pay for. When I reflect back over my life I see that most of my stress and drama was related to trying to navigate a relationship. At 68 I see now that with a bevy of strong, independent, stable girlfriends around me life is joy, laughter and smooth sailing. No complaints here whether I am no longer eye candy or not. I do not spend one minute of this precious life wondering whether I am desirable anymore, thats all ego based and leads nowhere.
I don't know why they're lying to her. She's telling them her experience and they're acting like they know her life better than she does. They aren't listening. And she's correct, men typically want younger women. This is just a fact. Now, I understand if you all don't like the facts but they're still the facts. They're just pandering. Fortunately I worked a lot on my inside since the outside fades away, I know who I am and how I look and I am super fine with that. So I love that someone like her, having been a supermodel, comes out and advocates for aging with dignity , loving you, being you, and not becoming a caricature of yourself and never being really happy trying to please everybody else. It is a natural process of life. Like it or not we will all go thru it. You know what i love about being a man, when a girl makes fun of you, if you arent a child, you’re pretty cool about it. Especially if what she says is true. Men,(smart ones) tend to not try and look like the winner, when they clearly are not. We accept when we loss. Lady your post is just saying this, “I know i loss my looks but I’m still winning”. When I was younger, I was considered beautiful( in this culture). I was photographed, followed, admired( too much for my taste). I was busy being a single parent, artist, writer, teacher...One day, I became invisible. A streak of white appeared in my hair, a few lines around my eyes- and I was not even ugly- but, downright invisible-at least to men, companies, jobs.....I still was the same person, but I wasn't. Men looked past me, as if I did not exist-walked into me... I do not need men to admire me- however... I am still a person- highly educated, great mother- I am still me, with a streak of white hair and some lines. Interesting, in that the men who devalue me as a woman and a worker are old, fat, balding, wrinkly and dumb.

This is so terrifying. I am almost 23, I am studying medicine and I get so much unwanted attention from men. Because of my looks. The look of shock when I tell them what I study always makes me feel weird. Somehow, they seem like they feel uncomfortable with it. Also, dating is so difficult, somehow I can never connect with anyone. I am desired, but not as a person. It seriously makes me scared that I will never have that type of relationship that I so much desire, to find somebody who will love me even when I am older. Like - how can I know? How can I know that their love is not only superficial?

When I realized that men were bothered by me being attractive and smart, I did not act stupid, but I always kept quiet about being smart. Trust me, it doesn't work. The easiest thing for me is to stay alone- raised my daughter alone. I am happy alone- I can be me, and be happy about it. But it isn't easy, and not for everyone- However, there are men that will value you for who you are- it just takes time, and you have to keep your expectations and never settle for less.

I don’t think all men in the 50s and 60s are looking to hook up with 20 or 30 year olds who are obviously looking for a sugar daddy. If you were a young and beautiful 20 or 30 year old who is also smart and successful financially, would you really date someone twice your age? Trust me there are plenty of young studs who would date and marry sugar mamas too. But most woman want more than a boy toy that’s there for money or fame. In fact this would not be even considered an option for most successful intelligent women.

I’ve been following Paulina on IG since her husband’s passing. Her posts are genuine and spoken from a place of experience and wisdom. Her comments about aging issues + women having an equal say in the financial planning conversation, if they are married, so they aren’t in a bind in later years is absolutely spot on. Aging really is a woman’s issue. Paulina is as beautiful on the inside - I’ve admired her aplomb lately and her modeling life earlier during the 80’s and 90’s - as she is on the outside.

Aging isn't just a woman's issues. It's also a problem for men. My uncle is 52 years old. He's suddenly dyeing his gray hair or plucking out gray hairs on his beard. He's having a mid-life crisis too. It is what it is.

Paulina gave such a great insight. I passed this video to my young 25 year old daughter. So, she is not only helping "Seasoned" woman but there is so much that is amazing for the younger ones. Yes, not that they will take away all of it but even if they just get a couple of things. My daughter was totally into the information.
I recently had to host a fellow for a week who is 20 years younger than myself and show him around town. He was a man with children. Not a college kid. After a few days, I was amazed at how little we had in common and it made me wonder how on earth older men routinely marry women who are 20-30 years younger than themselves. Having so little in common felt painful and it was tiring. Maybe this is an indication that men are really never really involved with the women they marry and couldnt care less whether they can have a conversation or have anything in common. She is just there for his convenience - be that cook, nurse, sex or live in nanny.

I am 65 yrs old, often told I look much younger, however, would like to meet someone who is grounded . Yet few men address the reality of life. She’s only invisible to the men she wants. She won the genetic lottery and is now complaining of aging out of the dating market but had no issues acquiring guys who were much older than her when she was in her prime. It goes to show that privilege is invisible to those that have it.

i think it is true that very beautiful women intimidate the good guys. When you are very beautiful, you are actually invisible because men only see the outside. They dont care about the inside and never see the real you. I was very pretty and the guys who came up to me were the total big headed jerks flashing their cash or the complete idiots. I had a beautiful (and lovely and talented) girlfriend who was a Miss America and she always had the worst boyfriends. Again, the nice guys never approached her. Always the jackasses. My mom was a beauty queen too and she married my dad who was also not a nice guy. According to Paulina, Ric was not that nice to her either. My guess is he married her because she was very young and he could control her and because she was THE top model. Allegedly , he squandered Paulina's money too.
If you really listen carefully to this interview you will see a rather frustrated middle age beautiful woman with a problem with her self esteem ( always using the coffee table analogy in all her interviews) ,taking jabs at young women and older men.Maybe her personality and her views is the reason she cannot find a suitable man.She keeps bringing up the fact that she is smart ,that’s a NoNo ,also speaking 4 languages doesn’t make you smart it makes you multilingual. And yes,men like young women more than they like older women ,that’s a fact and she cannot change that .
She is beautiful both on the outside and on the inside. But there is a lack of self-reflection în her approach to dating. She complains about becoming invisible at her age and older men dating younger women, but her husband did exactly that with her. At 24 she took a 45 yrs. old man out of the dating market, letting many 40+ yrs. women complain one more time why men their age want to date only younger women. Men her age who would have adored her were by default invisible to her. The fact is that most men are invisible to women in their youth. Women tend to date only up, with the top 20% of men - good looking, powerful, popular or rich older men. So when after decades of efforts men who were rejected by women in their youth gain a bit of status and power, is not surprising that they want to date younger, hotter and fertile women. There is and always will be an imbalance in the dating market: women will be very visible to men in their youth (and they will have plenty of opportunities then), and men will be more visible and considered more valuable to women when they are older and experienced. This is the way of life.
Only if the guy is successful though. Would rather date a younger guy if he has a plan to get his shit together, but a guy past 35 who lived with his parents because he can’t afford things or he is a big child and is irresponsible is way worse than a 25 year old guy who does those things. Age only benefits men if they do something productive with both their youth and age. If they are irresponsible and scatter brained, they will continue losing but more so with age.

Jesus, the amount of virtue signaling from the interviewers and in the comments...Paulina is old, she still looks good for her age, but she is way past her physical prime. She lived a privileged life thanks to her looks, attention, resources, the halo effect, etc. But age is undefeated, looks are not gonna last forever, this is reality, so as a mature person you must be prepared for this, and in this case Paulina should continue to age gracefully and don't expect the same kind of attention as in her prime years, she is already blessed, just enjoy your life...
No matter where you have been or who you were, aging can affect your spirit and soul. Having the self awareness to recognize this allows you to deal with it in your own way. And helping others come to that realization is what she tries to do!
The crazy thing is that she was that "25 years old Ukrainian woman" . I think that she was 19teen when she met her husband and he was in his 40's. He was married with children. She admitted in some old interview that she slept with him almost right away. Now she is complaining that men want younger women... Paulina please... Also I am sorry but this is biology. Men want younger and that is everywhere! I live in UK and same here. Its like a trophy to them to have a younger woman. She is right, women can't win all through our lives.

My ex husband (of 30 years ago ) is now one of my best friends. He's very successful but has been single for years and years, he was looking on dating sites etc but nothing ever came of it. We talked one night over a few pints and raised it, he said he would not date a woman who had less money than him plus didn't want a woman as old as him (he's 60) he wanted a "younger fit woman", I pointed out that he himself was certainly no oil painting and that a younger fit woman who was also rich wasn't going to look at him (we're very honest with each other 😅). I also pointed out that just because a woman didn't have as much money as he did NOT automatically make them a gold digger ! Suffice to say that he's still single 3 odd years after that talk.
I think esp when a woman hits 60 like me, men my age are not interested in women their own age. When i was 53 a man 68 i met on Dating site, he liked me coz i was younger! He didn't like women in their 60s, he was little bald with glasses and looked in his 70s! I didn't fancy him at all.

Exactly. It's a relief that guys pay less attention to you then when you were in your 20s, 30s, and even 40s. It’s a mixed bag. It’s very freeing to be left alone to go about my day. However in the dating world, men my age want women who could be their children. The men who do approach are my dad’s age and try to convince me that age is just a number. They’re not much better at receiving “no” than their younger peers.
Paulina, you are not invisible. You are seeing and presenting your hurts as the leading lady of your life. Once the trauma of your husband passing and the financial issues subside, you will present your amazing self again as the leading lady of your life. Paulina is a sweet, pretty, well spoken woman. However, at 56 and wanting a husband or a person to have a long term relationship with, she has to lower her standards. She mentioned she is invisible to men 5 years younger than her. That is not what a man wants who is 50 years old. They want a woman in their late 20s through 30s. Possibly a high value woman in her 40s, but that would be very rare. She says she wants an emotionally available man, that is easily achieved by dating the men you would normally put in the Friend Zone. 1.) Needs to be looking for a a man 65+ 2.) Not worry about looks as much 3.) A divorced man with children of she wants him to be younger. It is truly a shame her husband passed. Sincerely. She is in a situation she did not expect to be in. A 50 year old man would want a woman in her late 20s/30s..hmm.. but would a woman that age want a man over 50? not known that in general average population ..most woman seem to end up pairing up with men fairly close in age..

That's just how it happens. That is why most women end up with men 5-10 years older the vast majority of the time. Women control access to sex. Men control access to relationships. Hence, the age gap. Pauline, is a pretty 56 year old, seems well put together, and intelligent. She can easily get sex from most men. But it seems she wants a marriage. If that is the case, and she wants a high value man(6 figures plus, intelligent, good looking, and a good man who also wants the same things she is looking for), she will need to go older. Most likely minimum 65/70. A man her age will want the 20/30 year old 100% of the time. Especially a man of the stature she is looking for. This is about the choices the sexes want and desire. Preferences is a better way to say it. Why would a 50 year old man choose her when the 20/30 year old version of her exists and will want to be with him? Her life experience, career, and money do not matter much if at all to a high value man. **Disclaimer** There are very rare exceptions to this, but biology and natural preferences shape life in how we want it.

@@lenbrooke6745 average earners are about $48k for men and like $42k for women. A multi millionaire like her will almost never date or marry an average earner. We are specifically speaking of her situation. Women almost exclusively want a hypergamous relationship (men earning much more than the women). For her to get that kind of man, she will need to date older as men do not date or marry their own age with that wealth. And in general for similar wage earners, the age gap is like 3 years. But for normal range high earning men($100k-$350k) they will regularly only marry or date women in their 20s(men aged 20-50) or early 30s(50+) latest. I was not speaking of rich and famous(over $350k a year). Those are outliers. 10-20% of men earn 6 figures. Depending on the study. So it is much more common place than people think.
I think she is advocating self confidence and self respect. She may be blessed with exceptional looks, but her advice applies to all women, regardless of physical attributes. Be strong and love yourself!
Age lone and lonely is also a choice or stark inevitability as cruel as it may sound. Peace and happiness can be achieved many different ways. Paulina had a long marriage but it doesn't fulfill her as she admits. Her loneliness first with separation then with husband's death forced her to see the reality for what it was and do admit the honest truth that she wasn't happy. Hers is not really the issue of age and agiism as allowing one own desires to finally be acknowledged which she so candidly admits. Disregard for personal desires in marriages or whatever social structures (goes for child/parent relationship, too) is what forces some people to do something about it. Men socially and biologically always could afford a little bit more freedom to acknowledge their own desires and needs acknowledge their (when you are hard you are hard, there's no way to miss it or misinterpret it). Older men should not be villainized for acknowledging their own desires so desperately as to follow a "25 year old Ukrainian woman". BTW, age for men is a pretty scary thing and no amount of blue pill will hide it. It's not like a young woman will not notice. Some of these socially not readily acceptable relationships will last if the participants allow them not to color the entire relationship, at least for some time. Some will simply be unfulfilling and unhappy, the same relationships with people of close age can be unfulfilling and unhappy. Desires are the thing of heart, not so much logic. You can't mandate or reason with them.
100 % accurate. Paulina is not helping anyone here except herself. She acknowledged that valuing women for their looks was damaging to her but only after she was no longer being noticed. What about how damaging it was to the millions of women who could never possibly look like her for all the decades she used it to her advantage? Now she’s still advocating women be valued for their looks except, include a little older people, please, and since she is exceptionally good looking and tall and lean, she gets a few more years of attention than most. She should use her platform to destroy how women are treated by the modeling, fashion, beauty, and entertainment industries that glorify youth and beauty as the most important facets of women even with their token “more inclusive” changes. She should promote not treating women like ornaments at all. She is loving this attention. You can see she has learned nothing about valuing women including herself for other qualities. She’s basically just saying “I’m still pretty even though I’m in my 50’s. Look I still look good in a pair of thigh highs.” It’s great to feel that way, but how does that help women not be valued for their looks?

First I have to say that I know very little about the American cultural context of relationships if such a thing exists at all in such a diverse society. But from afar this 'dating culture ' looks awful to me . I have never dated in my life and would not enjoy it at all I don't think . Would I like to go to a nice dinner , sure . Would I like to go for a hike in the mountains , absolutely . Would I go skiing with a bunch of friends or friends to be , I'd love it , sailing , a visit to an art gallery , a museum , a concert , a talk , a seminar , a walk in the park , a course in photography or cooking or learning a language .... I think you van see where I am going with this . Find out where your interests are and go with that and seek people who like to do what you like to do . Join a group/ groups of like minded people who are doing things together. For example I am a member of an alpine club . A very active bunch of people organise all kinds of trips and tours that anybody is free to join. Relationship is a vessel , relating is a verb , doing things with other people is my road to friendship and companionship and , who knows , a partnership .
The key is making yourself available to date. And older men should date women their age, especially if they're single due to divorce or death of a spouse, younger women couldn't relate and will view these men as "The Creeps" or "The Craddle Robbers". Be with someone in a similar situation, as a divorcee or widower, they'll understand it's about companionship and not about keeping up with their younger girlfriends who may want marriage and a family one day--most men at this age are done raising their adult children.
Paulina is amazing, intelligent and courageous to not comply with society's judgmental expectation that she should "fix" her appearance to look younger, ESPECIALLY in the world she has lived in. She could so easily do that and no one would bat an eye and many would admire her. BUT, in my opinion, that STILL doesn't make men want to date a woman over 50 just cause she looks younger, because they know she's older. It's quite sad to me that so many women who do this do not look better, they just look like older women who have had plastic surgery. Also, I think the porn culture and feminism (utterly ironically) has resulted in men not valuing women other than for how they make THEM look. When women bought into the lie, "I don't need a man," men became like, "ok" and just went for the superficial and no commitment. I know there are men out there not like this, but so so many who are.
I don’t know too many beautiful, smart and financially successful 20 or 30 year old women who would date or marry a 50 or 60 year old guy unless he was a lot more financially well off or famous. They would most definitely only consider older men who are successful. I’m 100% sure there are plenty of young studs who would love to be with Paulina as she is stunning but they will most likely not be successful or wealthy. It’s an ugly truth about our society. If you think men are passing you by for some young thing, look at the circumstances. Many successful older men are okay with being a sugar daddy to girls half their age. Women can do it to but most women would not be satisfied with this kind of relationship.
