I love Pauline! I hope they include her as a DLC for Mario kart and many upcoming spin offs. She’s even in the Mario Movie.

Based on her popularity spike since Odyssey and her appearances in the last few Mario Spin offs, I can see her becoming the new a Rosalina and appear in basically every Mario Kart / Mario Sports / Mario Party (even maybe) from now on, specially since those games are in desperate need of more female characters.

Hopefully they’ll release her as DLC for the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass and eventually future Mario Party games as well as in the next Super Smash Bros. :D

You forgot one major piece of her origin. Pauline was originally suppose to be Olive Oil from Popeye. But when Nintendo couldn't get the rights to it, Miyamoto just switched the 3 main characters around to Pauline, Mario, and Donkey Kong. Nintendo did get the rights to Popeye a few years later.

There is a reason why I didn't include that in the video but looking back I probably at least should have talked about it a little bit. Originally why I didn't bring it up was because I had already gone into it in my Mario Origins video and was even planning talking about it in more detail when I made the Donkey Kong Origins video and I thought bringing it up 3 times would seem redundant. But I will admit I probably should have brought it up anyway.

Gotta love How pauline started as a damsel until the new mario games just Made her mayor....just like Daisy when she was a damsel in Mario Land until they Made her a tomboy in the mario spin offs Peach Will never get a break (until now in the mario movie)

as a kid i thought pauline was daisy back in the gba release of the donkey kong game.... saw brown hair and went with it..... i also didnt know daisy's name and just called her "peaches peechies sister" i was little so i butchered all three of them back then....

@Eris1987 when researching this episode, I got that information off the Mario Wiki, which cited the Donkey Kong Country Strategy Guide as the source of the interview.

@@KyleUniverse Okay I investigated it. Miyamoto never said "Pauline is lady," however he does imply they are the same person. In addition in WarioWare Gold's Toy Room there is a DK Arcade cabinet part of the Nintendo Collection. There is a blurb about the game and this blurb calls Lady Pauline. So yeah.
