Love it that Steve smiles at the mention of going to an antique store. I have a washboard and also a double cement sink, with the mounting ringer. Sure came in handy when my washer died. 😂 I also use it now and then, when I handwash items.

I have been using that kind of washboard at 1980's when I was around 10 years old. It was common in the summer cottage area where we spend most of my childhood summers. There was no electricity, nor running water, we had an outhouse and fished for food (smoked perch and pike soup are the most delicious food from my childhood), good memories

We had a big round washing maching with a wringer up top. We turned the machinr on and off to chech after a while for what was clean. There were certain things like dirty diapers, socks and towels we would separate out for special handling. Those we would scrub on the scrub board before putting back in the machine for awhile. We also used rocks on elbows when needed. Those things actually worked even though it wore some cloths out faster. We learned needlework to fill in weak spots. I am 74 years old.

Ill be 63 on October 3rd. In the 60s my Grama washed all our clothes in a claw foot bathtub with a scrub board. She left the house at 5:30 am and came home after 6 pm. Then she'd cook for me and my siblings. She was always happy unless something bad happened. Then she'd deal with it and was happy again. When was born in 1916.

I grew up in on a farm outside Bozeman in the 60s and 70s. My Dad worked at MSU. Haven't been there in decades. Needless to say I recognize nothing except the Baxter Hotel. We use to go in there to sit down when shopping in town. I have vivid memories of very specific things though. I lived by the cemetary on a hill (when we moved to town in my senior year) which is by a park we went to on Sundays after church during my whole childhood. I loved old cemeteries then and now. Beautiful and interesting. Glad your'e having a good time!

I love how Steve has warmed up to his new family . He seems much more relaxed and happy and even enjoying his little brother’s corny jokes 😂…… Also I would love to see a video with Abigail showing how she modifies a tee shirt 👚

Alexander, That's a fun colorful museum. Since Elephants are threatened with extinction, they want to create a cross breed that can exist in cold climates to preserve a species that has adapted to warmer climates. They don't want to "restore" Mammoths. Cheers, Rik Spector

I know how the Tornado feels inside and what a fun ride it is. My stepmom had the same color and right at the same year as that one is. Very comfortable seats and feels like riding a cloud. It was luxury and fully loaded all electric. Seats had a super wide range of seating adjustments. It was front wheel drive, the first time I heard of one. It was a 1973 and being that it was around 3 years old and In pristine shape it wasn't cheap. A shopping $3,000! Back then it was a lot of money. Now that one they are asking 9k in rougher shape. Rarely see them anymore.

27 dollars in 1940 is 670 dollars in todays money. it still a good amount of money but nowhere near the crasy 2000 dollars a month they want now. Avarage pay in 1940 was 1368 dollars(30760 dollars today) per a year. avarage monthly pay was 114 dollars(2563,34 dollars a month). your minimum wages was 30 cents an hour so in a 60 hour week you made like 18 dollars an at the most 72 dollars($1,618.95) a month. so 27 dollars aint cheap.

Man, I miss how Goodwill was 5-6 years ago. Actually possible to find treasures! Now they seem to only put normal stuff in the stores, and everything else is online at collectible prices.
@GuyWithTheDogs
@GuyWithTheDogs 23 дня назад
I follow a wildly successful Goodwill shopper who posts RU-vid videos every single day showing the collectibles she finds "to buy and sell for a profit." She doesn't moan about the 'old days' and she "actually finds treasures."

I find treasure quite regularly because they don't catch everything. Conversely, I've bought from ShopGoodwill online. They sell stuff that are barely good enough to put on the store shelves. I don't know who chooses what goes where, but sometimes what they do doesn't make sense.

do NOT spend any of your hard earned money at Goodwill! do NOT donate to Goodwill! they do NOT give the needy, helpless, disparaged, storm damaged any help! A homeless man walked into one and asked for shoes and was told to go away because he didn't have the $12 they want for used. donated (free) shoes!! Did I mention the CEO makes Millions a year?

@virginiaf.5764
@virginiaf.5764 20 дней назад
Because to do them live or close to live is announcing your home is empty, which means it's a good way to get your home burglarized. Plus, he's on vacation with his family. Editing and getting videos for upload takes a bit of time. That's why.
