It's all filmed in a studio these days and has been for years now. It's a show. It started off as reality but is no longer. It made no sense to disrupt the business with a film crew, cameras, director, script writers, lighting, guest 'experts' etc etc etc.

Definitely an original 1640s Lobster Tail Pot. Missing it’s cheek pieces and with a replaced Face Guard. Rick and his “expert “ are clueless, but it’s value is closer to $2500. Classy, clued in lady who wasn’t going to be conned.

True story wanted to share: I was chatting with a friend at work and he was telling me about his grandpa who supplements his living selling antiques at flea markets. He buys cheap stuff overseas and buries them in his backyard. I guess it makes the items appear older by oxidation and wear. He said he looks really frail and just sits there and people throw money at him for the items. Beware of what you buy!

Sorry Alex you need to handle more original pieces. These helmets were not heavy. They were only made to stop a glance from an enemy sword. The later copies were made heavier and of thicker gauge steel. However there was a siege helmet made of musket proof steel/Iron. These had a different construction on the top of the skull without the comb. These were not intended to be worn by light cavalry. I believe the one in the video is an original piece.
