I'm a collector myself, I would never take a COMIC BOOK like that, to a pawnshop. I'm taking it, straight to a COMIC BOOK store, PERIOD💯
@christopherosburn1773

While a comic book store knows more about the book, the condition and what it’s worth, there aren’t too many, if any that has the cash for a book like that. The pawn shop, especially this particular pawn shop, has the cash to buy it. If you want the most for a book like that, an auction or selling it yourself is the best way to go.

That's retail, maybe at an auction. You do understand the difference between retail and wholesale, right? A Pawn Shop, of all places, is not going to pay retail for an item they can sell for--retail. NOBODY should expect to get a retail price from a pawn shop.
@EGarrett01

@Michael Schuyler Offering 20% of the price is not going to get the job done even for a pawn shop. Even at $14,000 in 2013, a famous item like this is something you go over 50% for, they've done it many times in the past with stuff that would be less easy to sell.

"Amazing Fantasy"#15 is to the silver age; what "Action Comics"#1 is to the golden age. To put it simply; "Amazing Fantasy"#15 is considered the holy grail of all silver-age books. And as of late, this book has been sky-rocketing in price. If I had been the owner, of this book, I'd request to deal with Rick. I wouldn't let Chumlee even go near it. And aside from his cue cards, Corey, I really doubt, would have the slightest clue about the extreme significance of this iconic book. Rick is the most professional, of the three. So it would really have to be him I'd deal with. p.s. Corey's buddy underestimated the value of this book terribly. If Corey had excepted an offer of $13,000.00, then he would have made a killing with this. Corey blew it BIG TIME!
