The owner of that jacket if he was still alive would be in his late 80's or 90s! If he spits anything towards the screen its probably prune juice. Also he would understand the worth of that jacket is next to nothing, but each patch is a rare window to a piece of history and THAT has value

​@@kdr-ql7pzMan, I just saw the last comment 3 years later 😂. To name a few though, 101st Airborne (Screaming Eagles), 1st Calvary Division (yellow patch with horse head), and the one I served with was the 10th Mountain Division (Blue patch with two red swords on top).

I'll have to look in regards with the 10th mountain division, but there are many aviation patches, many related American , Canadian, RAF, and several more. Even the round circle patches showing a parachute, glider, and a couple more directly related to them. She even has a pair of jump wings alone. I'm not sure how she got this, I thought you had to jump five times for that one. In Regards to the American patch with Japanese writing on it shown at 2:33, I learned what that patch was. Myself and the museum (who has helped me with the preservation) couldn't figure out what that patch was. Most of the patches are in great shape, but that particular one was not. It was faded and worn. We couldn't figure that part out, but after watching this, I came to the conclusion that it actually worn and the hot salty climate caused it's condition. Overall, it has many mysteries. None of them look forcibly removed, even the axis ones. Particularly, three. A ss nco patch, kriegsmarine ( I think), and a Hitler youth (round red patch with a single s on it). Very interested Overall. I have no idea for some.

@@kdr-ql7pz I'm guessing that most of those patches were worn in garrison (the states), and might not have seen any real training or combat, which is why they were in such great condition, while that particular large patch, might have actually been born in a combat area overseas while on mission (I you might of guessed), which lead to the worn out faded look.

It is half of the appraisal but they are running a business. They probabbly need to sell each patch individually and that takes time and money. If she wanted $6500 she could have walked out and put the entire thing in an auction or spend time selling each one individually and make closer to $10k.

I would have sold it as a whole. If I bought it. I would of left them on there. Anyone can buy patches all day long but to have the jacket as a whole. Worth so much more to me and I would of worn it
